The new Wembley's facility surely is state of art. But when I look at the playing surface in compare to another new stadium newly opened around a year ago - Arsenal's Emirates Stadium, it doesn't seem as impressive.

Arsenal has played an entire season's matches at Emirates, yet even by the end of the season, the pitch still looked as smooth as a carpet.

The New Wembley, on the other hand, has just opened in recent months. Yet at the FA Cup final, I was suprised to see the relatively rough surface on the pitch.

Perhaps I m asking too much, but this is a stadium cost how much to build it? Surely you would have expected more than that. Afterall, it's the PITCH that's the most important thing in a football stadium isn't it?

They're quite similar really apart from Wembley's obvious size. The Emirates Stadium in my opinion is the best stadium in the Premiership. I haven't been to the new Wembley yet, but the pitch doesn't appear to be anything like Arsenal's.

Goodison Park is better than Wembley too. The pitch is in mint condition. But two season ago it was one of the worst stadiums in England because our pitch was crap.

But then we got some new turf, and the person in charge of the pitch took his finger out of his arse and now we our proud of our home. It sort of makes up for the shit toilets, and the wooden steps, and the views behind the supporting pillars is second to none.

One nice bit about our ground is that the prime seats at the ends, the areas that produce most of the atmosphere, have not been cut out by our videoscreen.

That's a pretty damning indictment of Wembley...they could have saved the seats at the ends by reducing the area in the prawn sandwich section, but chose not to.

Let's be realistic, the seats are the most important thing in a stadium. Most owners wouldn't care if the pitch was perfect grass or mud, so long as they could fill seats and make money.

With regards to the playing, I have noticed, even as a Man Utd supporter, that Arsenal have always had a flawless playing serface. At Highbury it was faultless, and it doesn't suoprise me one bit that it is now similar at the Emirates......

Hasn't Arsenal's groundsman won groundsman of the year 6 years in a row or somthing?

of course not, if it was left to them it'd take two years to grow.

Did anyone ever find out where the "secret off-site location" was where the Wembley pitch was grown?

Portman Road has the best playing surface, apparently.........

The new Wembley is sh!te, it cut up in no time and has looked heavy at every game.........but then it hasn't stopped raining all summer........

Not been to the Emirates, can't afford it

The Millennium Stadium is better than both of them.maybe my memories are clouded by going there on a wet day when the roof was shut, and being stuck in the lower tier behind the goal, but I couldn't think of a single thing, other than the size, that the Millennium Stadium had going for it. It was dark and ugly with an awful view, without an ounce of charm.

You basically sat in the worst seat in the ground, that's why.

And I'm sure the players were thankful for the roof.
