New Yorkers (besides too-crowded Nevada Smith's) where's the best place to watch the FA Cup Final?

Thanks!

It seems Setanta is enforcing their $20 PPV fee for every single person wanting to watch at a bar. Any other options?

You jest, surely. How can they enforce that? Have a Setanta representative in the bar? What if people are there to drink and not watch the football?

If you want into the bar $20, no ifs, ands or buts. If you're there and want to stay, same story.

And sure, the bar can decide not to charge $20, but all that needs to happen is that Setanta discovers once that there's no charge and that's it - no more Setanta feed ever again. It's enforceable and enforced.

I'm surprised no one has discovered a loophole in that one yet.

There are some loopholes. The one I've used the most is "I'm here to watch another match". The obvious problem with that is there needs to actually be another match that the bar is willing to show.

The other loophole is to show up early – before the Setanta people have arrived to charge you at the door.

As far as using the "I'm here just for a beer, not the match". That never works. I mean, its 10:00a so nobody will believe that one

New York doesn't have its fair share of alchies then, no?

You could have watched it on t.v. miles from manchester like most Man Utd fans. Or in a youth club like all the new Chelsea fans.

.....or from the gutter, like Leeds fans. :)
