Doesn't the FO know it's Dolph Schayes' birthday on Saturday? One of the few talents from NYU to make it to the Basketball Hall of Fame, and the league doesn't know there's practically a public holiday in the entire tri-state area?
I don't know about you guys, but I think this is just bad scheduling.

Oh thanks for reminding me; I still have to go out and get my Schayesmas presents! I hope I can beat the rush.

Seriously, this needs to stop. Sundays, Mother's Day, when do you want games??? Jeez, I'm sorry the RBNY FO didn't consult every single season ticket holder and card carrying ESC member, but come on, there's ALWAYS going to be something else going on, a parade, a Mets game a Yankee game. This is the New York metropolitan area it's not like we're in the middle of nowhere, like Columbus...

Personally, I think this is getting a little silly. Yes, Mother's Day was a bad day to have a game. That's a fact. After all, if you were going to throw a party, and your options were the Saturday before Mother's Day or Mother's Day itself, there's a really good chance you'd pick the Saturday before.
THAT ASIDE. The 19th. And you are worried about Dolph Schayes' birthday?
For shame. We're talking about the anniversary of Anne Boleyn's beheading, Marilyn's "Happy Birthday" celebration to JFK, and Jackie O's passing. Combine these three and you have the beheading of Marilyn the time she passed Jackie O at a birthday party! It's madness!
Can't we just have games at 4am, on Thursdays, when it wouldn't cut into anyone's personal time?
(Personal note: I didn't attend the game on Sunday cuz I was doing the Mother's Day thing. Do I hate the team or hold it against them. No. As long as they at least make the second round of the playoffs. :D)

Who the hell is Schayes?
http://www.hoophall.com/halloffamers/bhof-dolph-schayes.html
"Upon his retirement in 1964, he had played in 1,059 games, more than any other player in NBA history. With 19,249 points, he was the NBA's all-time leading scorer."
Madison Square Garden was going to name its new arena Schayes Stadium, but the Mets beat them to it!
http://www.nba.com/history/players/schayes_summary.html
"He is the father of former NBA center Danny Schayes. Schayes is also noteworthy as one of the few NBA players in history who is Jewish."
