An interesting stat is the one showing how few saves Reina had to make compared to other keepers. Some of the other keepers on that list played a lot fewer games than Reina - this shows how good Liverpool are at preventing opponents shots on our goal.

Also detailed is something we all know. Liverpool create loads of chances but finish too few of them. Liverpool had more shots than anyone except Man Utd. Liverpool had a very poor accuracy rate which meant we were very good at hitting row Z and less good at hitting the target.:rolleyes:

The major weakness of the team is someone to finsh off chances. A clinical strker is the major priority for the team if we want to dramatically improve.

That could also be because our midfield isn't creating enough real quality chances and our attackers are forced to try overly ambitious shots that are less likely to hit the target.

Not saying we don't need a striker. Just saying that stats don't tell the whole story. I think our creativity in midfield has been just as big of a problem as our finishing.

The goalkeeping stats don't really lie, unless a keeper lets in more than he saves. I say well done to our defense.

Did the stats count how many times we hit the woodwork- I remember early on in the season we'd hit the crossbar/ post more than we'd scored goals.

A few inches each way and maybe we would've been looking a hell of a lot better.

Actually its more down to Gerrard and especially Riise. JAR's shooting accuracy (14%) might be the worst in soccer history among players with as many shots as he. Crouch and Bellamy have strong accuracy numbers and Kuyt's is above average.

Yeah, JAR definitely hits the fans a lot.
