My choice, and in my opinion, the best qualified to lead our crime-riddled city. Go on Michael, do the Humpty.

From a soccer prospective, what does this mean for Philly MLS chances? Does anyone know what Nutter's POV on sports in general are?

How about the other candidates (no chance, right)? Taubenberger? Katz??

Also, Councilman Juan Ramos, Councilwoman Carol Ann Campbell and Councilman Daniel Savage were all defeated last night.

What will the new Council members think of sports initiatives?

I can help you with none of this except that Katz won't be running because he thinks Nutter will do a fine job.

I realize Nutter will be focused on crime, but has made any indication of his support for private/public projects or sports in general?

Believe it or not, I haven't really followed the Philly mayor race until now.

Thanks

Most of his focus will be on combatting the ills that face the city - crime, undereducated poor, and unemployment. If he can accomplish all three the city's ever expanding pockets of crime will start to diminish.

Frankly, it's not the city's support for sports I am concerned about.

Your missing my point. If Nutter has mentioned in the past that he doesn't support sports "welfare" or other "Salt Lake or San Jose" -like comments, it could mean trouble down the road.

And frankly (Calico?) I think the city's support of sports is very important. When has a MLS not needed heavy gov't involvement to get the job on a stadium project? Even the large amount of private money to build say the HDC, still had a lot of public money involved to finish the project.

Of course figthing crime is important, no doubt. But this is a soccer forum after all, thats what the priority is.

I'm just going off of what I have heard, but those agreements may exist before he is elected in November.
