Can we once again have two world class strikers up top? I hope so!

Neither of them are anywhere near being world class.

I'd like to see him at Rangers. The fact he is a bit of a Rangers fan should hopefully help. Mind you can you imagine him and Boyd up front? May as well play with 9 men!

I'll agree that Robbie Fowler is not, but JVoH is.

He is a good player but not world class. If you consider him to be then your list of world class strikers and players must be huge.

If world class includes only the top 5 strikers in the world, then no. But if world class means good enough to make a mark (not just appear) internationally, then yes.

He is only a back-up for Holland (mainly because his physical style of play offers something different to other options) and has yet to score an international goal. Had the timing of the UEFA Under 21 football championships been different then he would not have went to the WC, as Huntelaar would have taken his place instead.

You are correct but since Holland will never play him because of there style its hardly grounds not to call him world class. Would you rate any one on the Scotland sqaud as world class? Miller has done well and scored more international goals but I would hardly call him world class. So its a matter of opinion really.

Not really, ask anyone whether he is world class and only the biased few would say yes. As you just said, simply playing international football is not grounds to be considered world class so the Dutch not playing Jan is irrelevant.

It's apparent that I have a much more liberal definition of World Class. Ah well!

It clearly depends on your definition of world class. If you have a ridiculously loose definition, then I suppose JVoH could sneak in, along with half the Scotland squad.

To me "world class" should mean, arguably one of the best in your posisiotn in the world. JVoH and Fowler are far from world class by that definition.

I've always taken World Class to mean that, if you got to the World Cup semi finals, a player could slot into many of the sides involved in those games. It's quite a weird definition but it works well for me.

So, could JVoH have slotted in up front for Italy, Germany, Portugal or France?

This means there are only 4-6 world class players in any given position.

"International class" is different altogether, of course. JVoH is most certainly that.
