Same here. Yesterday was my first day in the supporter's section. I sat in the opposite end the first half and decided at half time that the other end of the stadium looked much more fun and I just went over there. I had so much fun. I found even the chants like, "You suck @sshole" to be funny. Or when the ref made the bad call, and the fans kept chanting "************************". My favorite was the "You wish you were Australian" and "I'm blind, I'm deaf, I want to be a ref." Absolutely fantastic experience, makes me wish I lived much closer to D.C. so I could attend the United games.

For reference, I was the one who stood on the outer right side (if you were standing in the supporters section) of the supporters section wearing a white Donovan U.S. shirt and I was only there for the second half.

My favorite "ref" chant ever is "Hey Ref, get off your knees you're blowinig the game!"

As for getting everyone on the same page for chants, how hard would it be for 4 or 5 chant leaders to each bring 100 copies of chants for the game and pass them out. That would be 400-500 copies. If people shared that woudl cover about 1,200 -1,500 people. I've never been to a USMNT game but I can't imagine we have "supporters" sections much larger than that (maybe I'm naive). You can get tons of chants on each page (front and back) and as long as they are sung to the tune of a "popular" song they won't be hard for everyone to pick up on. It just takes a little organization.

What the hell are chant leaders? If there is a supporters club with chant leaders, I wouldn't join it.

Because they are ignorant. They should hire announcers from BigSoccer. We actually know what we are talking about.... sometimes.

Same reason you go out to buy "Band-Aids" instead of "adhesive strips". All USA fans are known as Sam's Army. Which, in the grand scheme of things, is no big deal.

While obviusly there don't have to be official jobs, but if a group of people were to try and help organize the sections so that they had a larger variety of chants which everyone had access to the words I think it would help increase the volume and clarity of the chants.

Just a thought
