To the people who complained about the chants:
Yes, more varied chants are needed, but as other people have said, its hard to come up with them, hard to make sure people know them. Also, some people know much more about a certain country we are playing, so those who know less don't get certain chants (ex: the kid I was standing next do, didn't get the 'stick to rugby' or anything that had to do with sheep until I explained it to him).
Also a very corny idea for a chant would be "Bruce Almighty" to the standard 4 count.
And to our poster who is an old woman from the 50s...verbal insults are part of the game. The NZ keeper was cool with it, he knew it wasn't personal. However, when its qualifier time, they are all personal.

why cant we be friends? why cant we be friends? can't we all just get along?
here's an idea...let's just put all other things aside and just start a brand new supporters group and call it "Big Soccer" and have Big Soccer songs to sing.
no

Why can't you type "God?" it's not hard.

And Big Soccer chants at the goalkeeper and players like,
"Brad Would Have Saved It", "You Won't Last 60-90 Minutes", "Move New Zealand", "If We Lose The Terrorist Have Won."

Now those chants have some potential...

Us Red Sea Pedestrians aren't allowed to write it...its a form of taking the name in vain. I'm not overly religious, but theres a few rules i still follow. It shouldn't matter, you knew what I meant

And yes, the Army could be more productive if they sang American songs instead of sticking with "Insert 4-syllables here" followed by 5 claps or "Ole Ole Ole"
low blow man, low blow...BTW I'm from south jersey(the nice part) not north jersey where all of the aforementioned "greasers" reside.

were you the 13 year old who was wearing the Tards jersey down to your knees near the gate and we walked by you drumming dc songs and made you blush and your dad laugh at you? You tried to flick us off but i dont think it had the desired effect as you dont have any songs to sing back to us.

While that partly solves the first of the three issues I posed, I would still hold that those songs could use some creative editing so that they would fit with the game. Regardless, as Im a newbie at joing the supporters section I'll simply say that I for one was am still running on the adrenalin rush from being part of such a great group. Those with more experience can debate ways to improve-Im still reveling in the experience
Same here. Yesterday was my first day in the supporter's section. I sat in the opposite end the first half and decided at half time that the other end of the stadium looked much more fun and I just went over there. I had so much fun. I found even the chants like, "You suck @sshole" to be funny. Or when the ref made the bad call, and the fans kept chanting "************************". My favorite was the "You wish you were Australian" and "I'm blind, I'm deaf, I want to be a ref." Absolutely fantastic experience, makes me wish I lived much closer to D.C. so I could attend the United games.
For reference, I was the one who stood on the outer right side (if you were standing in the supporters section) of the supporters section wearing a white Donovan U.S. shirt and I was only there for the second half.

I was there yesterday, I've only sat with the screaming eagles a few times never with Sam's Army..but I know the old song and drill and had a great time....why does everyone need to bash on everyone..if you weren't there you have no right to talk..if you were there share your ideas start your own chant..if' it's good, it will catch on....if you are sitting on your hands , not suggesting your ideas anywhere other than a message board, talking crap about people who are standing and singing their hearts out for the US in the heat and humidity you need to be quiet.

Interesting. I was just curious. but i don't think having "God" in the titles of those songs are taking His name in vain but rather are using the name in a sincere and reverent way. Those are just my thoughts.
word is bond.

"Word is bond" - as in "my word is my bond".
Take it from someone who is old enough to have listened to rap before that phrase was even coined :)
