Couple ?'s. I was wondering if sidwell would be a good addition to the team. In my mind I thought he made if the price was right. He is a good middy and I honestly believe that putting him in the middle and putting jenas on the left side of the midfield would work. We all know Jena's freekicks have been a bit dodgy at times and we could use some help in that department not saying that sidwell is great but it helps. I don't know much about him so I pose the question what good things can he offer to our club if he were to come and what negative things would happen if he were here. Please give me both sides not just he sucks here is why say some good things too plz if there are.

You probably watched Fox Soccer Report last night, didn't you? They were discussing this and said he was already gone but Steve Coppell wouldn't say where to.

As for if he'd be welcome at Tottenham: sure, why not? He can play.

I hope not.

The fee is 0, his contract is up. He is just another average midfielder who does his job but he is nothing special. There are plenty of them around and people seem to think they are better than they are. We already have Ghaly (although not for long) and he is the same, just that Sidwell has more discipline and tactical awareness. Scott Parker is another one, good at a crap club and struggled at two proper clubs. Some players have their level, but they don't realise it until they have left and moved upwards! :D

Sidwell was off to Newcastle until the manager got booted out, now he's linked to his 'dream move' of Chelsea (for £50,000 a week!).

If he goes to their the world is officially mad. Great way to kill your career.

From what I've seen, he's a decent creative midfield player that gets a few goals. (But then scoring isn't really our problem.) He was in my fantasy side this year and did well for me. I have the impression he's after big bucks, bigger than we will/should offer, and that's the problem with him coming to Spurs. Without that issue, I'd like him as a squad player in the Jenas/Malbranque attacking mid role.

Jenas, Zokora and Tainio are all better. Sidwell is an average player, not bad but nothing special either.

Ha's not a creative midfielder, in essence he is a defensive midfielder. He just holds the midfield...you've got Zokora who does that better than he does so you don't really have a need for him. Then again, neither do Chelsea...

He's an idiot who will ride Pine at Chelsea, he should of stayed at reading or go to another club that will put him #1 99 out of 100 unlike Chelsea.

If he has moved to Chelsea I shake my head in disbelief -- he seems a perfect fit for a team like Reading or maybe a slight pay upgrade to somewhere like Newcastle or Aston Villa where he may well slot in nicely with a Big Sam/Little O'Neill configured team, but Chelsea? Or ManU? Just don't make sense to me.

Well if he came at the right price why not bring him to spurs at a Dmid position to back up Zokora. Hudds isn't ready it seemed to play fulltime at the Dmid position and while we wait a little for hudds why not have an average solid player who we can rely on day in day out for 3 years or so then he can got to cheski or whomever. I think it would be a nice move if the price were right and it could solve some problems we had there this year not all but some.

With the amount of central midfielders we hav I'd doubt it.

Totally unrelated, but I really wish we could have signed Damien Duff still. I know he's injured, but he would have fit great opposite Lennon at left mid. Too bad he didn't want to stay in London. Then again...if we spent that money we might not have gotten Berbs, who I'll take any day of the week over Duff.

Aren't people starting to wonder about his pace, which has always been an asset? Not sure, but thought I heard that somewhere.

Haven't watched Newcastle all year since they haven't been on FSC, besides the EPL Review Show, so I'm not one to comment on his performance this season. Because of this, maybe I'm out of place in wishing he signed with Spurs, but he's always been one of my favorite players. He's creative on the pitch, something that won't go away even if his pace does, though that does take away one of his best attributes.

At the time it did seem like Duff would have been perfect. Highly skilled, end product and the thought of him linking up with Keane and balancing Lennon on the right. But looking at it now, he's looked washed-up at Newcastle, breaking down with injuries and looking far too slow when he played. Looks like we dodged a bullet with him, although who knows, at a better club like us maybe he would have shown more.

Perhaps we did dodge a bullet then. Oh well, but a healthy Damien Duff would have been great to see at WHL.

It's hard to say.. for a lot of the season he was playing with a stand in left back behind him and he was injured - as a lot of Newcastle players have been for the last 2-3 seasons, much like Spurs were during the late 90s/early 00s.

If he doesn't get injured, if he has someone who knows what to do behind him (ooh err) and in a team performing... who knows. The way it has turned out suggests Spurs did well not to get him, but it might have been totally different had he joined a winning side :)

Anytime I hear his name I hear Chelsea. I don't know why they have midfielders galore! I know Robben will prob go but he is a winger. I wouldn't want to go there if I was him no playing time when he deserves first team go to newcastle watch out for them next year
