I've been told that if you download EP3, that you do not also need EP1 and EP2 that, in other words, the patches included in EP1 and EP2 are already included in EP3. Anyone know for sure?

All you have to do is download EP3. It's all included.

It seems that all of the questions/comments and or brags in the other CM thread related to CM4 get lost in the flow of conversation. Hopefully we can separate the two so those with CM4 stuff can get their questions answered just as quickly. discuss.

Just bought a new pc and got CM4 and Sim City 4 thrown in - so any semblance of a life I ever had is rapidly disappearing over the horizon.
Had the games for 3 days and haven't opened SC4 yet.
I've never had any of the previous installments - and to say this one is a little overwhelming is an understatement.
Good idea though, creating this thread - better than trawling through pages of chat to find out stuff.
I'm starting as York City - after 17 games we're 8th. I picked up a manager of the month award and one of my players got the award for the same month. Knocked out of League Cup by Mansfield at home but through to the 2nd round of FA Cup. So, overall, I'm feeling relatively chuffed by that start.
Main issues I have is about transfers/loans etc. Early in the season my assistant manager pissed off to someone else, and I haven't got a replacement. Is it essential to have one - if so what's the best way to go about getting another one?
Also, York have bugger all money (as we all know), and in an attempt to get some cash to spend on new players - I've transfer listed a few 1st teamers (young ones mainly) and put them on the loanable list too - but even though it says that some of these guys are wanted by other clubs - noone makes an offer.
Is it far too early to be moaning about money? I've got none to spend even though our income is bigger than our expenditure, and the board says I'm over my wage budget.
Oh yes, one other thing...how do you move players from the reserve team into the 1st team. I tried to demote some of my injured/suspended players to the reserves (which I could do), and then transfer some decent reserves into the 1st team (which I could not) - the transfer market is definitely the stumbling block for me.
Oh and one other, one other thing ... is it possible to train individual players? There's only a few of mine that could benefit from crossing practice, so don't see the point in everyone having to do it (just an example).
Many thanks.

errrr.....and I read the instruction book thing about how many leagues to be running.
It said that it would automatically set it to the spec of your computer. Thing is, it set it initially to the lowest setting (1 league I think). Which given that my pc has more than twice the recommendation of processor and twice as much RAM too, I thought was bullsh1t.
Could/should I have my game at a certain setting? It's fine on medium setting - should I go bigger?

As for leagues, I usually have Spain, Italy, England, and Germany running without full detail save whichever one I happen to be playing at the time(ie if I'm playing Birmingham City, England is the only of the four on full detail).

Playing as Halifax after one year i made it up to d3 via the playoff's. Parke and Clarkson banged the goals in like Rocco all year long.
Now in D3 I sit firmly atop the table after 20 games. :D

Ya but you have to ease him along. Play a game, sit the next, play a game sit the next. It is pretty much like this for all players under the age of 17.

and he's not even all that great. After seeing clips of the lad, i don't think their initial analysis is correct...and i say that because if they had given freddy more potential, his first stats would be better

i agree his stats are very underated, but he already has 2 goals, two assists so i will leave him in...the only problem is if you have a midweek game right after a weekend game he has to be subbed out at the half..

SI needs to fix the many bugs still present in version 4.05 for me to really get into it. In my last game Spanish clubs didn't send anyone to european competitions because there league didn't end until August 24th. And the awards are horrible. Thomas Helveg won World footballer of the year, And some fench player in the French second division won Serie A Italian player of the year  Plus many more doozies. It really takes away the enjoyment of the game when there are so many obvious major bugs in the game.

dunno, I didn't get any of those errors. The most obvious one that I saw was ignoring my request to challenge a red in le Championnat with AJA (Auxerre). Perhaps these bugs vary from game to game, which, while is still cause for concern, still bodes hope for if/when you start a new game.

Ok, been playing when I can for a few days now.
Restarted with appropriate database size and number of leagues running.
Just 2 questions remain really - maybe I just haven't examined it hard enough.
1) Can you train individual players or groups of players or is it a one-size fits all approach to training and you just have to change it to suit every other week or so? I just think it's unnecessary to get those who don't require heading or crossing practice to have to do it as much as those that are a bit crap.
2) Injury has struck the team badly lately (incidentally is that sign I'm training them too hard or what?) so the old problem of using my reserve team reared it's head. To be able to use them, is it as simple as putting myself in charge of the reserves then putting them in the 1st team? Because at the moment there just 3 or 4 that I am allowed to use - are they the only ones deemed suitable for 1st team play?

Are there any major bugs left in the game after EP3? Minor ones I can live with, but not things like score-changing (which has, AFAIK, been fixed, thankfully). I'd pre-ordered the game before it was released, but it never got shipped for some reason so I figured I may as well turn the misfortune to a good use and wait :)
