Tom Hicks is throwing a watching party for the final at the American Airlines Center. The game will be shown on the big screen on the outdoor plaza (pic below). Send me a PM if you're a red who's thinking of going.

never thought I could be jealous of football being shown in america:eek: ,even throwing in some fish and chips and offer you can't refuse.

Hicks more so than Gillett seems to have gotten well into the spirit of things ,its kind of weird becos when they both turned up for the press conference it seemed the other way around that Gillett has pushed the deal.

Well, Hicks' other two teams have been pretty poor of late- the Rangers are one of the worst teams in baseball and the Stars got bounced in the first round of the NHL playoffs, so perhaps Hicks is simply trying to enjoy the success of the one good club he's got. :)

I'm a Rangers and Stars fan as well, so I know how he feels.

I may go to the party at the AAC, but will probably watch it at the Londoner pub in Addison, since that's about 20 minutes closer for me. I'll be watching with a work buddy who, as it happens, is a huge AC Milan fan. He's still bitter about Istanbul...

I'm there! I wonder how many will show up? Who knows, maybe if enough people turn up for this it may encourage LFC to come to Dallas at some point.

I can dream...

I just moved to Dallas last week. I need to get my satellite dish installed ASAP. Here are my choices:

1) Have the installation guy come on Wednesday afternoon. Have someone burn me a copy of the match on DVD. Watch it later.

2) Wait NINE more days until another installation appointment time opens up. Watch match live. Cry after we lose, have no TV to help me drown my sorrows in the subsequent week and a half.

Obviously, I am going to the AA center. ;)

PM me if you're going. We should meet up and stand together. I will be the guy with three changes of shirt. (My standard lucky 2002 away Gerrard shirt, my white long-sleeved jersey I wore for both Barca legs, and the yellow polo shirt I changed into at halftime in 2005 in frustration, that was peeled off my body after the celebration and has sat unwashed in the closet since.) You never know what you might need in a pinch . . .

It will be interesting to see how many people show up since I don't have a good impression of how many reds supporters there are in the Dallas/FW area...

There's an official Texas supporters club (registered with LFC and everything), but I think a lot of them are in Austin. I always had folks to watch the matches with when I lived in North Dallas. Bob Sturm being a fan and Tom Hicks has undoubtedly raised more interest, so who knows?

Where would you go to watch matches?

What a great turnout today at the AAC!!! I was really impressed with the size and enthusiasm of the crowd.

And, to be honest, I was pleasantly surprised with the set up. I really thought it was going to be just room to stand and maybe one consession stand in the corner. Lots of tables with cushioned folding chairs - could have been more consession stands outside, but it was nice to be able to go in the arena for a break from the heat.

All in all - very impressive showing for Dallas and fans of both teams. I hope this leads to more events like this at the AAC, and of course, I hope thie leads to a visit to big D from the Reds!

Good to hear. There were about 200-250 of us at the Londoner pub, all but about 10 cheering on the Reds. I got there right before the pre-game started, and there wasn't a single table available. It was nice to see so many Red shirts- and like you said, hopefully we'll get a Reds visit to Dallas!

I am awful when it comes to estimating crowds - but 500+ seems about right.

It is interesting to hear from Reds fans in Texas. Now with Hicks on board it is almost certain that Liverpool will tour the US in the next 3 years. And a trip to Dallas due to the Hicks connection is a certainty.

I hope so. I've only been following the club for two years, but judging from the number of Red kits I've seen at the local pubs and on TV (the AAC watching party) I definitely do not walk alone in Dallas!
