just juggle and practice a lot. Then whenever u feel comfortable try and do some tricks that you've seen in videos and what not. Keep practicing and u'll get it easily.

Start off on a hard floor; the street, basketball court etc. Juggle once, let it bounce, then juggle once and then let it bounce. As you get comfortable juggle twice then let it bounce, when you get comfortable juggle three times then let it bounce and so on up to 10. Once you consistantly get to ten, you will be on your way. Biggest thing, stay focused and pay attention to how it feels when you properly play lift the ball.
also check out the videos on www.4skills.com
We have them on our club web site (www.cbsoccer.com/challenge.html) and our players love the videos. The videos show you how to do some tricks when you are tired of juggling. I encourage my players to juggle for 5 minutes and then try one of the tricks for 5 minutes. It works well as it creates new challenges and a provides a variety of ways to show individual development when they train on their own. it is awesome when they show up and want to showcase their new trick.
I am a huge believer that juggling is a huge key to an individuals development as a player.

I was never big on juggling. So about a 4 months ago, when I did relieze that it was about time I learned...it turned out I was a bit slow on learning? I don't know if this is normal or not, but I've been going for a few months now, trying to practice at least 3 times a week for like 20-30min just with juggling and my record is only like 40, and I can't consistantly get anything higher than 25.
Is this the right pace?

If your just starting off. Trying juggling one at a time. That is. Drop the ball with your hands. Kick it up once with one of your feet to your chest. Catch it. Drop it again. Rinse and repeat.
The trick is that when you do kick it, try it place so it tops out right at chest height. Really try and get the ball to softly land on your chest. But always catch it after the first kick. When you can do this continuously with both feet your ready to move on.
If this is still too difficult, you can try just using you knees instead of your feet.
One nice thing by doing it this way is you can do it indoors, assuming your confident enough / have no priceless antiques nearby.

Once you can do 5 in a row, find an enclosed space. Or face the corner of your room and juggle, this way you can cheat a little. Deflate the ball a bit. Playing bare feet in your room is a good way to get the feel of the ball.

Hey guys I'm just wondering wether great juggling skills are a necessity for soccer cause I have good control on the ground, very quick footed control but can't juggle well at all.

Its probaly the best way to perfect your first touch, which could be essential in a forward or winger.

air or ground touches, or everything, cause I have a good touch on the ground, but when it goes in the air it's a lottery pick for me, and whats the diff. between a winger and a forward I thought they were the same thing? I just like attacking period lol.

Cristiano Ronaldo is a winger. He generally plays on the outside of the field(wings!) and is expected to provide good service as often as he goes to goal. This season he actually has about as many goals as assists. Wingers are also expected to have at least some defensive responsibility.
Forwards generally sit up top by the last defender and wait for the ball to come to them. They're expected to score goals not necessarily create them although many can do both. Forwards tend to benefit from the service of wingers.
A good first touch in the air can put you by a defender as easily as a move on the ground. Deadening a ball that seems beyond your control is invaluable. There really is no substitute for having a quality first touch. I've played against and gotten killed by teams of slow, old men because every touch and every pass was to the right person. They didn't need to run because they all had great control on the ball and could put it wherever they wanted. It's also something that's like riding a bike. Sure if you don't do it for a while the first couple times/touches are a bit wobbly but then it comes back like old.

Thanks man, I going keep working on my juggling and first touch, cause I've played against those type of skilled old slow men too, and its a pain in the butt. I've got speed and have mostly worked on my ground technique so hopefully I can catch up on my air touch.

Just continue to kick it also use your toes to kind of give it a backspin to get the ball to come back to you.

As for it actually being helpful, it depends how you do it. Once you have the hang of juggling go into different exercises
Useful practice is the key. When I go out to practice I'll juggle until I can feel the ball, then I juggle while adding in game situations.
I'll juggle 10 or so times then hit high and try to trap it softly into a stall or gain ground control to work on my first touch. Then I'll juggle and hit it over my head and go into a quick run. I'll juggle while switch directions, or juggle into a shot.
Juggling like this helps with control etc. while helping you prepare for in game situations were the ball might come up and a flick or juggle to switch sides can help.
This goes with every kind of practice you do, make any practice relevant to in game situations.
one more thing i forgot is to try going from one body part to the next. For example I'll go: right foot, right knee, right shoulder, head, left shoulder, left knee, left foot and back and vice versa

Yeah i really think that juggling helps your overall play. I think it is a confidence booster on the ball, and not to forget it helps your first touch. I used to be horrible at juggling but after some practice ive gotten good at it, it just takes time.

this was a problem for me too but all you have to do is keep practicing and take light touches because i used to hit it hard and used to ping all over the place here is a challenge try keep it below you wast while keeping it up then once achieved try doing them under knee height so it is just tapping off your feet

I agree with this, in my case I could only juggle twice two years ago ( yea I know 2 times ), now I can do above a thousand pretty easily. I also encourage the drop the ball on the ground thing from the first page because thats how I learned how to do mine

I just forced myself to do the role it onto your foot and flick it up way as then you can flick it up better.
