Throughout the history of the game, we have been blessed to have seen or at least hear of the great partnerships involving great players. These pairings can be defensive or offensive yet these pairings can be associated with greatness. Some of the most notable are Di Stefano and Puskas for Real Madrid and Pele and Garrincha for Brazil. What are some other great partnerships and more specifically, can anyone point out if Maradona actually had a great partnership with anyone? There could be his partnership with Careca at Napoli or his partnership with Caniggia for Argentina but they can't be compared with the pairings mentioned.
Keegan and Toshack

Marseille always loved the association between a great dribbler and a goal hunter. It gave Andersson-Ben Barek in the 50's, Skoblar-Magnusson in 1971, then Jairzinho-Paulo Cesar, Waddle-Papin, and more recently Ribéry-Cissé.

These were the partnerships I've most enjoyed viewing...
Signori-Casiraghi for Lazio
Zamorano-Salas for Chile
Vialli-Baggio-Ravanelli at Juve
Giggs-Scholes-Keane-Beckham for ManUtd
Baresi-Costacurta at Milan

Baresi-Costacurta at MilanThey were great in the 1994-95 season and even when ADP took Baggio's place, it was still a fantastic trident.

Rui Costa and Batistuta
I was wondering why it took so long for these two to get mentioned
Also I'd like to add Morientes and Raul.

Totti/Cassano at Roma.
Henry/Bergkamp
Probably the entire Brazil 1970 team
Maldini/Nesta at the centre for ACM?
I can't wait to see, in the years to come:
Fabregas/Diaby in Arsenal CM
Messi/E'too/Ronaldinho
Cronaldo/Rooney could really blossom (that goal v. Bolton, for example)

in the 2000-2001 season the attacking trio of Totti-Batistuta-Montella that led Roma to the Scudetto was pretty fun to watch.
Also it's too bad Toni left Fiorentina because him and Mutu formed a great bond this season and that was certainly a partnership on the rise...

Drulovic on the left, Capucho on the right and Jardel scoring goals, the best attacking trio FC Porto had in the last 15 years, in four years Jardel scored something like 150 goals in all competitions, it was a shame that we didn´t achieved european glory with them.

Ronaldo and Romário. And you though Romário - Bebeto was good? When these two started up top after 1994... wow. They were indeed made for each other.
