There are reports in the UK and US media that Houllier is very keen on going to Newcastle next season but I haven't seen anything in the French media to confirm this. Anyone read anything about this in the French press?
edit: I did find one little blurb on Yahoo France about it but they called it a persistent English rumor. Although they did add that Didier Deschamps might be willing to fill his shoes at Gerland.

I think it's just a fabrication by the English press. Everyone on the planet knows by now that Houllier's relations with the club are tense, so they probably just drew a blurb out of thin air.
This rumor is just as credible as the Deschamps to Marseille rumor that popped up this morning.

there's actually a soupçon of a good pun in this (houille is a french word for coal), but if houllier wanted to move to a dysfunctional, underperforming club with irrational pressure from fans and management just because of old emotional ties, he'd go to PSG... at least he'd be living in the city of light instead of a s...hole like newcastle.
