Years ago, i saw a Pele movie - loved it. However, can't remember the name of it. Had to be at least 10 years ago. Anyone know the name of it or where I can get it? Please let me know if you know of any of those movies, i'll have to see if i can find it.

Thanks in advance

"Victory", perhaps? Which also had Sylvester Stallone and Michael Caine? That's the only I know of offhand.

might be "Hotshots" too..

I think Pele is a teacher of a struggling player with an atitude (Krisitidis)

.. that might be it

you might want to do a search on IMDB.com

I remember there was another one as well....had some story about a rich American that was a bit alienated from his Father going down to Brazil and Pele ends up teaching him the game....Pretty bad movie, if I recall..but I was like 8 when I saw it, so I thought it was cool......

The only Pele movie I've seen is "Victory" which was made in 1981 in which he co-starred with Michael Caine & Sylvester Stallone. The aforementioned characters were Allied POWs held by the Germans during WWII. The German camp commandant was a football fan and they ultimately organized and put on a football game pitting the Allied All-Stars against the German All-Stars. It's a fine movie - I recommend it to anybody who likes football/soccer & WWII. Enjoy.

It was called hot shots, the kid got to play for the Cosmos in a game and did a bike just like pele.

If you want an awesome soccer movie, go rent the Mean Machine. Just out on video, it's awesome

Can you tell us about this one? I thought I had seen every soccer movie ever made, but I am unfamiliar with "Mean Machine?" Who's in it, what's the setting, etc.? Thanks.

It's a remake of the Burt Reynolds movie, The Longest Yard, but it's set in Britain. Vinnie Jones is in it, I think, and a bunch of actors you've probably never heard of unless you're a big fan of English films.

Victory is good, it's got more soccer stars of the past then just Pele. I recomend it to anyone with a love for the game. Just shows how the Germans haven't changed in cheating habits since WW2 ;) watch it, you'll understand.

I just saw Mean Machine last week....definitly an enjoyable one. My favorite part had to be when the goalkeeper (forgot his name) has visions of ripping apart his opponents, and then the film switches right back into "real life" and he calmly rolls the ball to one of his defenders....the announcers for the game were hilarious..."that ______(goalies name), a cool customer...."

Mean Machine was done by the same producers of Snatch and Lock, Stock...

One soccer movie I haven't seen mentioned here is "Home Team." Has anyone else seen this one? I thought they could have done so much more with this film. A bunch of misfits are transformed almost overnight into the San Jose Earthquakes. How many times has this plot been used? Think "Ladybugs," "The Big Green," ad infinitum. "Victory" is probably the best soccer pic made yet, IMHO.
