Whaaaa??? Botero is dumb if he goes to the sec. division. Hes better off staying at Bolivar.....

I remember hearing too that Juve' are trying to make their team only italian like Chivas with mexicans, they are trying to buy big Italian players and young stars like G. Rossi at Villareal...

I really would love for Reyes to go to italy though.

Wait!!! Isn't Leon FC the team that's getting promoted to the Mexican first division this year? I heard that somewhere.

Yes, Leaon FC won the title so they're going to "la liga" next year, that's still a bad move for Botero tho cuz they're pretty much gonna be the weaker team in the league. :(

Are you forgetting about San Luis? They got promoted to the first division two seasons ago and now just look at what they have done, first qualified to the libertadores. El camello Botero is now a leon Fc player and let's hope that they become the next San Luis.

Actually now that it was mentioned that they are getting promoted, they are a good side and i doubt they will be relegated next season. They i believe are tring to get Davino, and Botero. Leon i remember in the late 90s was pretty good, so i change my mind and say this isnt a bad move on his part, now knowing that they are moving up.

I feel a tad better if Leon is really going up a division. If not, Botero should be banned from the NT! Because, I don't now how playing in second division would be better than playing in Bolivar, unless it's for the money.

Botero is doing well for himself. I'm happy for him. We need him in the National team so I hope he gets called upon in future nat games.

I can't believe the depth we have in Forwards for the National team! I'm excited! I can't believe the (lack of) depth we have in Midfield and defense though.

Abdon Reyes
http://www.la-razon.com/Versiones/20081204_006476/nota_252_723983.htm

So he wont be going to Mexico, but it sounds like he's either off to Argentina(ugh) or Europe(Italy, Germany)

From everything I've read, heard, and speculated Reyes has/had offers from

Germany - A bundesliga side wants him, however, they want him during next years summer transfer and not in January. Reyes is not willing to wait the 6 months so bundesliga is out of the question.

Mexico - He had an offer from America, but Reyes did not want to make a quick decision and was buying his time weighing all options. America moved ahead and signed a Chilean player instead. Mexico is out of the question.

Argentina - His agent has said a very likely scenario is Reyes getting loaned out to an Argentina team. This leads me to believe some bigger club wants to buy him but wants to see him play in a tougher competition than the Bolivian league first. The only clubs in Argentina who I think could pay the minimum 1million transfer are Boca and River, and that might even be too much for them. It would be a sort of audition for the big club. Or they want him more for the summer season but want to secure his services now and loan him out to Argentina until summer.

Qatar - Some Qatari sheikh wants to buy Reyes for his club. IMO this is the least likely scenario, no chance Reyes goes to Qatar unless the money is insultingly good, and he's greeted by an oasis of middle eastern beauties.

Italy - We've heard from the beginning of an Italian side looking hard at Reyes, most mentioned team has been Juventus. I highly doubt it for the reasons I've mentioned before. I would love to be wrong though.

IMO he's going to either Italy/Argentina and Qatar is his safety. Then again negotiations could fall apart or the Italian club gets cold feet and Reyes stays at Bolivar. Wouldn't be the end of the world since he'll have the Bundesliga option in the summer if he maintains his form.

PS: can anyone confirm or deny that the hack known as Leonel Reyes is his brother, oh the irony.

Yes i am pretty sure that is his brother.

But yes, i hope he stays in Bolivar, and Avoids Qatar. A loan wouldnt be bad, but if that were to happen, who would loan him out? Bolivar? I rather see him play in germany, but Juventus... i doubt he goes there even though that would be a dream for me and many bolivians to see one of us in a Juve' jersey! The rumor has been though that Juve is trying to form a all Italian team letting their Foreign talents go or sell them off.

Good Post Nilo.

I don't imagine Juve going with a full italian club; too competitive of a league. It's possible, but they would need all players from the national team, and the top youths in the country. They would need more then triple their current pay role.

I don't imagine that happening. Other teams don't want to let their home grown italian players go, and then there sponsorship issues. Not happening.

Patience is a virtue, and let's hope Reyes has that virtue. Comming from the player, that these teams are interested in him, means that he has been getting calls. If that's the case then I hope he is patient in making his move. Good thing he turned down America. Nothing like the argentinian league to toughen players up. ALmost all the players I can remember that went to Germany from Argentina, succeeded. With the exception of Andres De'Alessandro, everyone has fared well. THen transfer from the bundesliga to other leagues has been very good too. If he gets loaned to Argentina for just a season, then he might not fully benefit. I would hope that if he plays consistently in a team like Estudiantes, Boca o River, and succeeds then for sure Juve and Bayern are a possibility.

On a seperate note, Botero goes to Leon. From what I can see the team is not in the first division and needs to finish the clausura to make it there next season. Let's hope he takes them there and crushes the big names there. I think the Mexican league is not only for Chivas, Cruz Azul or America anymore. Look what Jaguares did there when they were promoted. He signed already, now let's hope he succeeds.

More news coming out on Botero, this time its his salary and his transfer fee:

Entrevista a: Joaquín Botero

Looks likely that Raldes is done in Saudi Arabia
http://www.eldeber.com.bo/2008/2008-12-09/vernotadeportes.php?id=081208235301

Shocker that his family can't adjust to life in Saudi Arabia. As we mentioned before the transfer, the writing was on the wall for this one. I bet his wife didn't know she's not allowed to drive or be out by herself until she was there, I'm sure she loved having no one to talk to.

Says he might go to Argentina, I hope not, even if it's for a "big club"

Nacho Garcia is out, in the meantime, from the coaches graces. He has lost his starting job and is seeing less and less time. If The coach doesnt play him, we might finally see him get transfered to Germany as has been speculated the last couple of years. This is reported by El Deber.

About Nacho, Germany has always been a possibility, but i read that AEK Athens has been looking to add him to their line up and just might do it in the winter transfer window.

Yes i am pretty sure that is his brother.

They are not brothers. Leonel (Lito) Reyes is 100% paceño, even after the nose job he got a couple of years ago. Abdon Reyes was born and raised in Tarija.

On another note, Botero is going to Leon of Guanajuato, which did NOT move up to the big mexican league. He will be playing in the 2nd division until he gets picked up by another team or Leon moves up (very unlikely given the other teams with much more realistic chances, like Irapuato, Dorados, Queretaro F.C., Jaguares).
