ENGLAND could be suspended from international competition and English clubs prevented from playing Champions League and Uefa Cup matches if the Premier League is taken to court over West Ham United’s use of ineligible players.

Doubt it, Fifa doesn't have the clout.

Well maybe these teams don't have the standing they think they do. But now Charlton's whining about their rights, etc etc.

It's a confusing stance on FIFA/UEFA's part though. The leagues get in trouble if they let clubs sue them? Why is this supposed to be under the FA's control? Are they expected to discreetly arrange for Whelan to wake up dead one morning? Something's very off about this policy...

West Ham have never used unregistered players though, which is the strange thing. The media and owners of rivals surely must know this so why do they keep going on about we should have points deducted. It's rediculous it really is. No club has ever been deducted points by the PL for what we did.

ALL disciplinary matters are to be adjudicated by sporting bodies, under FIFA rules. Italy were threatened with a similar punishment.
Wet Spammers - can you genuinely not understand why people are pissed off? It looks like you're going to stay up because of a player whose initial transfer has been deemed illegal. There's no grey area.

This is the EPL's fault. If they just punished West Ham properly in the first place, none of this ensuing mess would have happened.
As a neutral, this makes the EPL look worse than the Serie A. The West Ham 'fine' looks like an absolute joke.
