the top 5 point getters from the clausura and apertura qualify for 2008 Copa Libertadores no?
but how many qualify for the 2008s Sudamericana?

I don't know how it will be this year, but if it is like previous editions, River and Boca qualify automatically. Other than that, I think they are another 4 clubs. CARP and CABJ go to the Round of Sixteen from the start, while the other ones play to get through (two two-legged games, meaning two teams qualify). Yeah I know, it's unfair for them, but hey, there's nothing I can do!

no its only the top five that go, then the top 2 go straight into the round of 16 instead of having to play pre-sudamericana round. e.x. san lorenzo (6th)-banfield(5th). this is last years and remember we had an extra spot since boca won it.

just decided to look it up :p
we had 7 teams in it last year
Boca, River, Gimnasia, Lanus and San Lorenzo in the rd of 16 whil velez and banfield lost in the first phase
