I support the bottom six (clubs)' proposal of suing West Ham and the Premier League.
I have nothing against West Ham FC. But from what I known, if in a football match, a team field an illegal player, the final result of the match will be deemed as invalid, with the win reward to the other side.
West Ham has played 2 illegal players for a series of matches, so how on earth they only got fined of cash yet with no point deduction?
On the surface of it, yes, they were punished by a heavy fine, 5.5 mil. But if the survive the relegation, they would go on and save themselves 20 mil for next season's Premiership status alone. How does this justify?
It also opens a dangerous case for the future. From now on, the clubs would just buy anyone they want, regardless of if they are an illegal purchase or not. Since they ain't going to get deduct points anyway.

Prem League want the big name clubs in the prem, which West Ham are.

West Ham got off lightly with the fine. The other clubs have every right to be annoyed with the descision.

It's not about who I rather watch. Early this season Bury were thrown out of the FA Cup for fielding an ineligible player; 10 yrs ago Middlesbrough were deducted 3 points for failing to fill a match squad (16 of their players were out injury).
Now u got 2 ineligible players playing so many games illegally for their club, yet they don't even get a single point deducted?
Fairness is what I want to see. When the clubs feel a league doesn't treat its clubs fairly, the league will lose its creditbility in a long term.
Even Sir Alex supported the bottom six's proposal.

I'm sure that the vast majority of fans would prefer to watch the team that has not cheated and lied about it to stay in the division.

That is so cynical but so true. But is a big club mired in the relegation battle really more of a draw than a cinderella story like Reading?

Great, we lost three vital points due to two goals scored by an illegal player. And we say the Italians are corrupt...

Exactly. Besides, if the Premiership only wants big name clubs, might as well automatically promote Nottingham Forest, Leeds, Sheff Wed the likes straight back to the top flight.
no matter what, be it the Premiership title, or just to survive in the relegation, a team has to EARN for it.

Doesn't matter, as it looks like a load of Premiership clubs are happy to bankrupt them. Hehehe.

No they should not be deducted points, The league should have done something before it got to this point. It is unfair to the entire team and and it's fans. Let the play on the field decide who stays , not some boardroom ruling. The league should have stepped in straight away and denied that move, after the fact it's ridiculous.

The field of play is where West Ham have been able to field a player who should not have been playing. Every time they have played Tevez and Mascherano they have been knowingly breaking Premier League rules and certainly over the last couple of months they have gained a significant advantage from this. Without Tevez they would have been down some weeks ago.

Every match involving Tevez or Mascherano should be awarded as a win to the opposing team, and -3 points to West Ham.

Why shouldn't I we be bitter? They signed a player illegally to stop themselves being relegated. Any other team would have been deducated points, but they're the media darlings so they get away with it.

I understand your bitterness about them getting Tevez, but your statement about him being brought in to prevent relegation is terribly misguided. He was brough in when they were atop the league - with 0 points.

Well actually he was brought in when they had 4 points from their first 3 games. [/anorak]

To be honest ... as wrong and as scandalous it is that West Ham are going to stay in the premiership next year, I think the institution to blame for this fiasco here is the FA. How they have let this continue until the end of the season is just atrocious. The FA should be deducted points for letting the two players get signed in the first place. They gave the green light for West Ham to sign the players in the first place and they continued to look away throughout the entire season.
