Who's the best ............. and who's the worst in the Prem?

Up until a few weeks ago I would have said Ben Foster (plays really well behind a mediocre defence). But as of late I've been more impressed by Pepe Reina. I think Petr Cech is outstanding as well.

Top 3 (Best)
1. Pepe Reina
2. Peter Cech
3. Ben Foster

The worst regular Goalkeeper in The Premiership in my opinion is Jens Lehman I don't know why Wenger has given him another year.

I think Wenger should be forking out some cash for Buffon or even saving some and trying to sign Ben Foster, Scot Carson, Tim Howard or even Tomasz Kuszczak (Although if Van Der Sars form stays like is then Kuszczak may get promoted to Number 1 for next season).

Reina makes too many mistakes. Wenger would not be able to sign either Foster or Carson, as their are owned by Man Utd and Liverpool respectively. Foster should be pushing for a first team place when he returns next season.

I never rated Reina that highly until the last few weeks where his game seems to have improved ten fold.
I was just hypothosizing in regards to Carson and Foster. I'd love to see Buffon in The Premiership though.

Reina is better at penalties than Cech, but that's it. When healthy, Cech is pretty clearly the best keeper in the Premiership.
As for the love in with Foster - lets wait until he lets in fewer howlers, shall we? He's had two in the last two months.

Let's also wait until he's played behind a decent defence and has nothing to do for large stretches of the game. As Paul Robinson pointed out recently, it's much easier for a keeper to look good when he plays for a poorer side as he has more to do and it's easier to stay focussed when you're constantly under pressure.

For me, Cech is the best keeper in England followed by Shay Given.

You mean the Calamity James disease. :p

Shay Given.

One of the worst defenses in the Prem, yet Given saved our asses so many times.

1. Cech
2. Given
3. VDS/Reina

based on consistency. All four are very good keepers. Robinson is very good and Howard has had a nice season at Everton. Although I think Foster is good, I agree with nice that he is inclined to an occasional howler.

As for the worst, probably John Filan at Wigan or Hilario at Chelsea.

It's easy to pick favorites – and I agree with most of you – but hard to pick a worst.

Lehmann certainly hasn't set the world on fire this year, but I don't think he's the worst in the Prem. It's amazing that just this past summer he was one of the best in the world and now he's fallen way down that list. I'll admit that he's not in the top half of Premiership keepers I'd like to have right now.

Worst? Really hard though. Maybe... Schwarzer? Niemi? I don't really know. I'm sure I'll get argued on those.

i think it's fair to say that - whoever he is - the worst keeper in the premier league doesn't play much.

I'm surprised at the nominations for EVDS. Last year, sure, but this year?

Friedel's had a real comeback year. I know he's been good-to-average for the last few years, but this season, singular, he's been elite.

It's been an odd year for rating keepers, with Given and Cech, arguably the two most talented, being struck by injuries.

EVDS was very good this year, apart from the last few months but that could be blamed on the defensive injury crisis.

REIAN MAKES MISTAKES MY ASS..
come on now..all keepers make mistakes but Reina is not the ones to make them all the time..

He is just as good as Cech in normal play and pulled of some awesome saves, got good spring in him for a smaller keeper compared to Cech

TOp 3 are

1.S.Given
2.J.Reina
3.S.Carson

The worst is whichever of Filan/Pollitt/Kirkland is starting for Wigan. The best is quite clearly Cech, with Given 2nd best IMO.

Filan is not a bad keeper
