with players like cesc winning the golden player award, and theo playing in the 2005 championships.
i thought id keep tabs on gavin hoyte, rhys murphy, henri lansbury, nacer barazite and fran merida.

england beat iceland 2-0 with henri lansbury starting and gavin hoyte coming off bench, rhys murphy didnt make the 18.

it was 2-2 for netherlands with a goal from barazite with the commentary from uefa webiste describing it as
"The Netherlands are level four minutes into the second half as Nacer Barazite fires a right-footed shot into the top-left corner from inside the area."

i thought they allowed overaged players (like the u21s)... u had to be under 21 by the start of qualifying... not sure if that is true for under 17s tho

Apparently there was a barca striker at the U17s who is supposed to be godly.

Let's sign him.

Bojan Krkic. He is not leaving Barcelona.

I didn't even realise this competition was on. If I had known a few days earlier I would of gone over for a game. I looked last night to see if I could get over to Tournai for the England game today but it was too much of a missions. Never mind.

You sure? He could follow cesc and become a star in a year or two.

His father is a scout for Barca... sounds like a near impossible task getting him away.

its half time
rhys murphy scores from a header 2 yards out, great cross from byline, murphy only needed to make contact.

and spain lead 1-0 with a goal from krikic

Seeing these young players do well really excite me. I mean I know it doesn't always translate to first team success down the road, but this type of excitement is different to the excitement I got watching the carling cup. The players in the carling cup, whilst being young, were players that Arsenal had bought. Hearing about guys like Lansbury and Murphy doing well bodes well for the future of the academies ability to produce it's own talent without having to go out and buy youngsters. This generation will be the first of the youngsters coming through the academy from when it was set up so the generation after should be even better seince any early teething problems would have been solved. In the long long term, Wenger has set us up immesurably.

Id still like us to get bojan krkrickrikckrik though
