Really? You included Petr "long ball" Cech who has already had a few fumbles this season,
I'll be the first to admit that Casillas and Buffon have left Cech in the dust this season in terms of consistent brilliance, but he's still far and away the best goalkeeper in the EPL and despite Cudicini's competence he's an invaluable player and key to Chelsea's remarkable resurgence.

Casillas has actually left Buffon and Cech and all other GK's a long way behind.
I still dont know why Cech is rated so highly and Reina is almost invisible from best GK discussions. Reina is better at all types of distribution, plays better as a sweeper, Reina is physically faster and is better at rushing out at players and closing them down, has quicker reflexes, is better one-on-one, while Cech is only slightly better than him in the air.

well, then it just so happens that maybe the rest of the world disagrees with you and you fellow Pool supporters. Although IIRC, even on your own boards, Cech came ahead of Reina in that poll you created.

If people are talking about current form how come hardly anybody has mentioned the best DM in the EPL? Javier Mascherano.

Err what? Are you talking about this thread? Half have mentioned him? I don't think even one person mentioned him in the top 5. That's why I made my post in the first place.
It seems to me that for the most part people who aren't Liverpool fans tend to underrate him or overlook him. And my comment is not based just on what I've seen in this site.

You are right...we (Liverpool supporters) have voted him to #3 in the fans player of the year so far, behind Gerrard and Torres. His game against Inter was the best game he has had all season...he almost single handedly kept Inter to 0 shots in the first half.

Top 5 just going on form this season is probably... in no particular order...
C Ronaldo
Torres
Gerrard
Fabregas
Adebayor
Choosing only 5 is very hard so I've gone for those who have been the most dangerous offensively.

Behind Gerrard and Torres?
Gerrard has scored 17 goals so far this season despite having a broken toe in the Autumn. That's not bad going.

I am going to have to agree with this genius, but the one change i would love to make.
1. Martin Taylor
2. 2pac
3. Mr. Bojangles
4. Joan Rivers
5. Landon Donavan
Again, if you don't at least agree with most of these, then you shouldn't even consider yourself a true futbol fan!
