You're clearly a Chelsea-hater on some sort of drug. I mean the list is okay until you hit the last two. Wenger as the best manager in the prem? I laughed out loud until I remembered who we have now as our manager. Oh yeah and that first sentence was a joke, fyi. ;)

I'm surprised so many people are putting Gerrard and Essien in their top 5. They haven't done anything out of the ordinary this year.

Van Persie hasn't really played in a while. While Nani is a good talent, he doesn't even play on a regular basis.
Babel?

Geez, I know that this is an "opinion" thread, but you must be Dutch.
Neither Nani nor Babel play full-time. And I've barely seen VP play this year. To each his own.

Babel?
Yeah...
He has had only a handful of good games and many average games...in a few years he will be getting close to this list but for now, he isnt close at all.

I know you're a Ballack fan, but going on recent form would you still put him over Berbatov, Hleb, Adebayor, Torres, Joe Cole, Mascherano, Gerrard?

Cole, Hleb and Mascherano are tough to leave out but on form Ballack is truly better than all of those players, and from watching all of Chelsea's games I can tell you that he has been very close to his top form. The only thing keeping him from completely dominating is his struggle to regain fitness to accompany his form.

I didn't meant to imply that I was basing my rankings entirely on performances this season. I just listed the five players I consider the best and most valuable in the league.
