It's where he always drifts to anyway. Unfortunately for England that is his fatal flaw.

Not at all.

Benjani has 12 goals for Portsmouth this season ... the next highest scorer on the team is Defoe with 5. He has over 1/3 of the team's goals this season (team = 35 goals total).
That would be impressive enough if you weren't taking into account that he's been out of the lineup since the beginning of the year with the ANC. Since he's been gone they've lost 2-0 to Sunderland, beat Derby 3-1 & lost 2-0 to Man U. They had 5 losses in their first 22 games with him and they've had 2 goal-less losses in the three games since he's been gone.

The bottom line is that he's been sensational this season, and as I mentioned in my first post, my top five is based on individual performance and impact on the team ... both of which he's got top marks for.

Maybe not Heskey, but your general point is right. If you had all of the Premiership players out on the playground after lunch and you were going to pick teams, there is not a chance in hell that Benjani would be anywhere near the fifth player taken.

He's a decent striker in the midst of a great run, but you can't really put him anywhere near the top five.

I kind of agree with you giving Hleb this consideration, he is the most underated player on Arsenals side, he penetrates the defense initially and creates many of thier chances along with Fabregas.

Exactly, people overlook his impact on the team, especially his influence during this season.

Kind of a ridiculous statement now considering he changed the course of the game during England's last game. As I've stated before J Cole plays a vital role for both England and Chelsea.

He played well but only because he was given the freedom to while the players he usually gets in the way of were forced to play a more tactically rigid game. Come back to me when Cole can operate alongside the likes of Rooney, a striker, Gerrard and whoever plays on the opposite flank. All of them allowed to play their natural attacking games.

Id much prefer to see Young, Gerrard and J Cole running around Rooney...all with more freedom. There are lots of positive qualities with those 4 players and with 2 DM's behind them, they wouldnt have to worry too much about defensive responsibilities.
