The best forwards Argentina have right now. Two classy individuals who don't complain, whine, or bitch. They go out on the field each and every day and do there job. They've done it in Argentina, Europe, and for the National Team. Nuff said!!!

Crespo became a legend with River, not San Lorenzo, regardless of his background before. Saviola is also a class professional whose taking his shafting from Barcelona with unusual decorum considering the circumstances.
Also, if you really look at the players River has given Argentina recently, they hold the most captains (Sorin, Ayala), and the most players overall (Cruz, Crespo, Saviola, Sorin, Ayala, Lucho, Cambiasso, Mascherano, Aimar) to the WC team, and that's only off the top of my head, there are certainly players I forgot.

Saviola could have left Barcelona at the beginning of the season and been a starter somewhere else. he got many offers.
So why didn't he leave? Because he didn't want to take a pay cut. He preferred riding the bench 9they told him he wouldn't play) and make money as opposed to play with a pay cut.
Pure Class on his part
Also, Crespo and Saviola are not the best 2 strikers argentina have. Messi and Tevez come to mind

Messi is more a midfielder/wing, so yes they are. Saviola is/was/will be 10 times better than Tevez and Crespo is the most lethal player we have.

LOL @ ElMuneco living in the past. Too bad River doesn't produce strikers like that anymore. You have to settle with the muertos you have now.
In fact the whole Riverplatenses abroad thread is pathetic. Having to find confort in the success of former players because the current side is pathetic and crap. Sad.

IMO, Saviola was the best player of the Mundial. Better than Tevez and "Hombre de Lata" Riquelme combined.

No Dr. Know, what's really sad is the fact that your former players have to return to Boca to win something after failing in Europe. Let's see, two come to mind right now. Palermo and Riquelme. Not only did they both fail in Europe, they couldn't hack it on the National Team. Palermo sucked balls and your boy Riquelme quit like a little biaaaaaaatch after the WC because of all of the harsh criticism he was getting. Now that's pathetic.:o

No, Maxi Rodriguez was the best player. Ayala was a close second imo even though he missed that PK.
Either way what does that have to do with him being 10 times better than Tevez is now and will be? You do realize now how pathetic this sounds? I hope you do.

Riquelme failed in Europe? Now I know you are completely full of shit.
Palermo might of failed to impress in Europe but he was plagued by injuries constantly. Not making excuses though. He did fail to impress. Either way what do I care what he does in Europe? All I care is what he does in Argentina and he has done more than all your strikers combined. Hell you jokers wish you had the strike partnership of Palacio-Palermo even if you don't admit it.

10 times better? Maybe not. Better? Yes.
As for the Crespo-Saviola partnership, it's the best Argentine duo we have for now. They are two amazing players and they play even better together. They did great in the WC and in several other opportunities.

Palacio, yes. I just don't like how he's following the steps of his "idol" (Guillermo) and diving all the time now, though. As for Palermo, nah, I would rather have you keep him. Although we may not be doing good for now, a Falcao-Ruben duo when they are playing good would be great. Not to mention how many more years they have left in the tank.

Explain to me oh great one, how did he not fail in Europe?? I don't recall him winning any championships for either Barcelona or Villarreal.

Give Tevez time to settle in Europe. This is his first year there and he's already a legend at West Ham. Saviola has been bitched around Europe more than a Thai hooker because Barca don't want him.

Crespo is another player I like but his time is up. Milito is banging in a bunch of goals in Spain. He should be the 9 for Copa America. But if Crespo does want to play since it'll probably be his last tournament with the NT then let him. But Pato should also play then.

Just because Barca doesn't want him doesn't mean he isn't better than Tevez. In fact, everytime he plays (even if it means a few minutes) he scores. He has over 100 goals in Europe! He went to Monaco and did great. He went to Sevilla, did great, and was a big part of their UEFA cup win. He played in the NT and always did great (including the WC). He's always been amazing and continues being that way, despite not being able to play too much. Plus, he's only 25. When he leaves Barcelona in June he'll do great in ANY club.
As for Tevez, he is another great player. But that doesn't stop me from thinking that Saviola is better.

So winning something is the basis of someone failing for a club or not?
Maybe because he played for a ************ tiny team like Villarreal but still led them to the semi's of the CL? He won the title of most artistic player in La Liga and was nominated for FIFA World Player of the Year? ALOT of people who followed La Liga thought he should have won best players of the league in 2004 insted of Ronaldinho.
If you think Riquelme failed in Europe you are a complete joke that shouldn't be taken seriously.

Did I say that that meant Tevez was better? No! I was just pointing it out. Everytime he plays he scores??? What? jajaja. He was great at Monaco?? Are you kidding??? At Sevilla yes he was good but alot of players contributed to their UEFA Cup win not just him.
He's good. But he's not that much greater than Tevez as Illrod seems to suggest. Tevez won wayyy more than him in S.A. and contributed more to his clubs than Saviola.
Now is just Tevez's first year in Europe and he quickly went to the EPL the HARDEST league for a South American player to adapt to. Just ask Juan Pablo Angel. And he's already a legend where he plays at.
Put Tevez in any Spanish club and he would be banging in as many goals as Saviola if not more. Put Saviola in a club battling relegation in the EPL and I highly doubt he'll pull off some of the heroic performances Tevez has.

you're right that year riquelme was on fire, i think that alot of people underestimated that team as well, riquelme is a very good player but for club to me and others he doesnt do the job on the nt, same argument that was brought about for veron. but riquelme didnt fail in europe he had a style of play that the holland people dont like. but pellegrini made sure he got the best of him.

People were being too hard on Riquelme. He only played what with the NT? The WC qualifiers where he was excellent and pulled off a brilliant performance against Brazil, the Conf Cup where he did very well and won the Silver Ball, and the WC?
There have been players for the NT who have failed to impress or haven't done shit who have been given multiple shots at playing with the NT. I don't get why Riquelme is singled out that much. He's still an excellent player and easily one of the best passers in the world.
