Why are we playing our weekend game against Charlton on Monday night, when we have a mid-week make-up game against Blackburn? Blackburn will get two extra days of rest.

We don't have to work around any European schedules for our remaining opponents, so why are they making us fit three games in the final seven days, after an eight day rest? Wouldn't have been much fairer to move the Charlton game to Saturday, or to have put the Blackburn game in this week? I assume the Blackburn game was scheduled for the final week when we still had a chance of playing UEFA Cup this week, but not moving the Charlton game makes no sense to me.

Charlton game got moved for TV before the Blackburn game had to be moved for Europe. Stupid town planning there, they should have assumed Spurs would be in Europe at the time.

The Blackburn game was the final easter weekend game, none of the sides left in europe played so i think there will be quite a few games to be made up. The timing is crap though, a thursday of all days! It would have been easier to make the Charlton game a saturday or a sunday and then make the Blackburn game a wednesday. It is on TV though so no doubt that had some bearing on the decision.

Both teams wear blue and white, but the TV company only sees green. They have been advertising the fact there isn't any PremPlus next year as if they have withdrawn it for the benefit of the customer, where in reality they lost the bidding war to Setanta Sports who now have a proportion of the games.

Edit: found them..

The Arsenal-Chelsea game is a regular schedule game, the Chelsea-Man Utd is a make up game and so is the Spurs-Blackburn. I can't imagine Chelsea being happy about playing sunday>wednesday. But their european commitment this week usually means they would have to play on sunday -- although Liverpool and Man Utd play saturday, Utd at 1pm vs Man City.

Seems like a real ******** up to be honest. The TV schedule dictates certain games are on, no complaints there.. the Manc derby and Arse-Chelsea are prime games but it then means the others have to be slotted in somewhere, anywhere!

Thanks, Danners.

It's also silly that Man U plays Wednesday then Saturday, but Chelsea plays Tuesday then Sunday this week.

Unclogging fixture congestion is a pain. I just don't see why The Charlton game couldn't be moved back. I love Spurs, but is the Charlton/Tottenham match really a marquee match? There are plenty of weekend fixtures not involving teams playing during the week before or after that could be moved to Monday.

I don't consider it a huge TV draw, but they have Man C/Man U and Arse/Chels this weekend already. Perhaps it would have been better to show two live games on sunday and none on monday. Who knows.. £££.
