To start at a young age like 12 in a big MLS club, and to actually put more money into what these players may make as professionals...If the money is better the players will come thats the one thing that has held some of the talented players away from football to other sports..

I mean, what do we really have here for the upper echelon? Bradenton, FL? I don't know how it is in the states of the other MLS clubs, but I really like that the RedBulls have their own mini-camp/academies throughout the different seasons. I feel like that's a step in the right direction.

I think thats it I know the RedBulls have youth teams that dominate in the states but I don't know how they develop or is it any team really.

yeah, I wish they had their youth teams when I was 15 or 16. I had the choice between Matchfit, Jersey Barons, or PDA.

eh, you're getting into prime age to get scouted. Get on a good club soon and play in college showcase tourneys. By junior year have schools in mind and have them come watch some of your club and high school games. Worst case, send them tapes.

good luck with everything. It's exciting, yet stressful.

Yeah good luck! You just have to make sure you put the work in off the pitch too. Most clubs aren't interested if you don't have the fitness levels required for the level you are playing at.

You're not kidding - you will be so relieved once you have chosen a school, and gotten everything over with; I know I am.
PS - anyone located in Europe know of any websites where I can find youth soccer club fees? (specifically the UK, but anywhere will work for me)

I used to get in fights with my parents over what I was doing after high school. I just DID NOT care. I still kinda don't, haha. I've changed majors 3 times. and I'm finishing my 3rd year tomorrow.:o

Well, I guess a more reasonable question, since I don't know a lot on the topic, would be do kids there have to pay a lot of money in order to play on a team?
Or is there little to no fee to play? (I'm pretty sure academies like liverpool/manu/arsenal etc are free, I think, as long as you are good enough?)

If you get scouted to play for an acadamy at any level i think the club pretty much look after you. I know from my experiences that professional clubs help you out getting a boot sponser etc.
If you aren't lucky enough to play at a high level. Then most sunday league clubs will just get the kids to pay a few pounds to train each week. That covers the pitch hire and the money to pay the ref. Thats pretty much all they have to pay.

Yeah the nice thing is my school has some connections with players who play in the MLS and all so yeah but NY and where I live is quite well known for some players that come out :D

I've never understood the APPS thing? I think it's obv Applecorr but why the abbrev?
by neglecting the suffix 7, u urself abbreviated, most likely for efficiency, being the whole point iof the exercise...
apps, R&W, bigg, benv, dev, kiat, etc etc, if im speaking ur name, best believe it won't be typed in full!
