Ok...so this is my first major tournament I'm going to this summer. My girlfriend and I are flying out from Los Angeles at the end of May to Austria for Sweden-Greece. We put in for tickets through both UEFA and the Swedish Football Website (my grandparents/cousins live there so I had them use their Swedish Identification Info for us) and did not win either lottery. Now I am freaking out, because I expected tickets to go down (we are broke college students) but they are still riding around 500 bucks a piece. If anyone has been to a major tournament before, what would you suggest is the best way for us to get tickets to this match for relatively cheap?

Thanks for your help everyone

For Sweden-Greece you'll get them on the day for face value or very nearly. The only people buying tickets at 500 a pop are those who've never been to tournaments before. I've been to seven and if you pick the right games (i.e. not involving Germany or a massive game such as Holland-France) you'll be OK. Wait until an hour before kick off before even trying to buy - most sellers will be locals who've bought an extra ticket hoping to make a killing. They won't turn up until an hour before. When they discover that all of their neighbours have done the same thing they'll just want to off load and get in the stadium/go home (as appropriate). The price may stay highish most of the day (although 500 for this game is absolutely ridiculous) so hold your nerve. I'm going too - and I don't have a ticket for this game either.

Good luck

Hi everybody! I have a different contact for the Austrian Train Company (004351717). The begining of the call is automated options in German, but if you press 6 and wait, an operator comes to the phone and passes you to an English spoken operator to who you can request your train bookings. For me was a nice and clean service, very efficient.

With tickets to match that day, the TRAIN TICKET is TOTALLY FREE (not with discount), the only thing we should pay is the reservation fee (3 euros for seat, and around 30 euros for bed in sleeping car). I've paid extra 5 euros so they send me the reservation vouchers to Portugal, but you can collect them in any Austrian train station with no extra costs.

Good luck, Miguel Vieira

If somebody wants to book train tickets over the phone;
+4312902008.
Last night I call and got nice lady speaking decent english, and able to book 2 double sleeping car ( coupe?). with discount, b/c she said if I have tix for game , I get discount.

Nate, I have to agree with H. 500 is too much for that mach, no way prices would be that high on the day of the match. I wouldn't be so positive with you paying face value, but for sure you get them not so much over face value during the afternoon.

The only question is to get a pair seated together, so you can see the match with your girlfriend. That wouldn't be so easy as a single ticket, but if you keep your eyes open you'll find it, I'll cross my fingers for you.

Good luck, Miguel Vieira

Just as a heads-up:

If anyone would be interested in trading two tickets for Germany-Austria against two for Germany-Poland, please contact me. We've got two for the Poland match we're looking to swap.

Since I was not sure I would be able to travel this summer, I have not bought tickets for Euro2008. Is there any avenue at this time for purchasing tickets other than one of the tout’s websites? Just curious if there will be any further rounds to purchase tickets officially, especially any tickets that other people turn back in or obstructed view tickets. As I recall, WC2006 had this type of waiting list. I even know someone who scored tickets that way to a Germany game in 2006. I am not really looking for tickets to the real big games, just the regular games.
I know some have suggested waiting until game day, but I don’t think I can be that unstructured.
I think I know what the answer will be but I thought I would double check anyway. Thanks for any info.

Hi, I hope someone would help
I have my address to netherlands and moved to mexico last week you can change your address, I changed everything but the country, and sent an email to the contact center in the uefa webpage, they didnt change it, still remains like this:
City, State, MEXICO
NETHERLANDS
nodoby replied as always, and a week later, (yesterday) all my friends have received their tickets but me, so I sent another email to UEFA
and they replied this:

"Dear Football supporter,
Thank you very much for your E-mail.
Please note that the deadline for the update of your shipment address has already ended and the shipment processes have started. The Tickets you have been allocated will be sent automatically to the shipment address indicated in the Ticket Portal. If the shipment of the tickets fails then you will receive further information on how to proceed in order to receive the Tickets.
Best regards,
Your UEFA EURO 2008 ™ Ticketing Team"

The fact is I dont know if they sent it to the original NETHERLANDS address, or to my current MEXICO, NETHERLANDS address.
I called DHL and asked them with the zip code of AUSTRIA and MEXICO and they said they didnt have a package with that data, so I just want to be completely sure, that all the tickets are sent from AUSTRIA, Is any of you from NETHERLANDS, please let me know if you received the tickets from AUSTRIA or SWITZERLAND.
If you received from SWITZERLAND please tell me the zip code, is very important,
this question is for all the EUROPEAN addresses
thank you so much!!
Felipe

I don't get it. Are you saying you made a mistake when you initially changed your address on the UEFA website? And then by the time you realized the mistake it was too late to change addresses!? Does your changed address include "Mexico" in it anywhere? IF so, they'll probably figure it out though it might take longer to get to you.

Anyway, my tickets came from Austria so can't help you there...

Yes, it says:
city, state, MEXICO
NETHERLANDS

both countries, Mex and NL, so I think they first will take the packages to Netherlands and then to Mexico, one of my friends told me they didnt find his house and they (DHL) sent him an email, I hope that will happen, and soon
I dont want to travel to europe without tickets
thank you for your help
