Gattuso is neutralizing Ronaldo, with our sloppy passes it'll be hard to do another "Juventus" come back :(

Wes Brown has been a travesty in the central defence..

The entire backline was off the mark. Milan's sidebacks were overlapping at will. O'Shea and Heinze have been iffy at the best of times.

Of course, all we have to do is score two, and knowing this side we'll come out and score four or something. Come on United!!!

Brown and Heinze have been crap in defense... No midfield control whatsoever. Comeback time!!!

How are our fowards supposed to do anything positive when they have to worry more about helping the defensive end than attack? I can't believe how horrible we look as a unit today.

hopefully Sir Alex will get them in order for a great second half!

LETS GO UNITED!

I can't see us getting two goals with Gattuso on the pitch. He's been brilliant thus far.

I hope we don't go out of the CL just at the moment when we no longer need to worry as much about midweek games tiring our players for the league matches on the weekend.

Where to start.

We look lost out there. I cannot believe the team that defeated Roma 7-1 and organized an incredible comeback against Milan is playing right now. Saying we look intimidated would be an understatement. Our defense has been absolutely shambolic. O'Shea and Heinze are giving the ball away, and Brown and Vidic are awful together. That mistake by the former will not be soon forgotten, it's near unforgiveable no matter the pitch conditions.

We also can't blame the pitch conditions because we should be used to them from playing in Manchester and Milan are handling it just fine. Once again, we're seeing why Milan still has one of the best if not the best team built for Europe. Their passing is clinical, they don't flinch when they move up the field and virtually everyone presents a threat.

Ronaldo has been utter pants, in no way does the world's best player look this terrible in big match ups like this. From the first minute he thinks he's clever and tries to outfox Gattusso, it's not going to work. Just run and pass, don't do your ridiculous tricks when they clearly don't work. Nobody else on the team has done anything worth a shout, I hate to call this a pathetic first half performance but that's exactly what it is. I'm not ruling a comeback out, but it's difficult to see us break that organized Milan side. They are no Everton mind you.

If anything this game tonight proves that we don't have the team for Europe, which I've said over and over. What got us through was heart and inspiration and we cannot rely on that every game, especially against sides like Milan.

Well it is clear that we've lost our nerve a bit and the defense is absolutely shambolic without Rio. There's no organization, Vidiv is rusty, Heinze has been TERRIBLE... I don't know what he was thinking by not clearing before the 2nd goal and he's left loads of space open for Oddo.

We're letting them play exactly the game we would've wanted to play with a one goal lead coming in. Look at how many men are behind the ball when we try to build up an attack. Gattuso has obliterated everything in front of their 18 yard box and when they get the ball they break together and our paper thin midfield and defense just don't know what to do.

The hairdrier has to be on full tilt right now. The boys need a good kick in the ass. They need to get sharp, get intense, and get some confidence. All we need is two goals right now and we should at least force extra time. Unfortunately I don't think we did much to wear them out that half so I wonder how much they'll tire. You know they'll be packing it in though so there's absolutely no room for sloppy passing and a lack of invention. It's time to throw everything we've got at them and make a game of this.

Let's ********ing go, eh?!!

Personally i think Heinze has been the worst of the defenders, how many times have we seen Oddo Run through unmarked on the right, he's really not doing all that much defensively.

Also seeing the replay of that Second goal is just bad...........bad defending all round

Heinze has been abysmal. In my eyes, he has been responsible for both goals, and we've had too many occasions where Ronaldo has to come and cover for him. Brown is slightly better, but only slightly.

Let's hope we gain some compusure and show these guys who we really are.

lets look at this positively. We've come back from 2-0 before and we all know AC will tire in the final 20 mins. If we get an early goal we're right back in this match

so maybe Rio on for Brown and Smith on for Heinze and drop Fletcher back into defense and then bring on Saha for Carrick and have Saha and Smith run up front with Rooney supporting?

something has to give this half. one goal and we're right back in it.
