Considering Pumas were in a relegation battle for most of the season, I would label this season a modest success since they avoided relegtion, but poor performances down the stretch cost this team a chance at the playoffs.
There are some young, talented players on the team as always, but some of the dead wood has to go. If it was up to me, I would start the next season without the following
Tuca
Palencia
Ailton
Iņiguez
I would like to see a coach come in and play more of the youngsters than what Tuca did. Moreno, Velarde, Bonnels, Barrera should all get a more playing time. I would also like to see Scocco as a forward and set up guy. I still can't figure out why Tuca kept taking this guy out and leaving palencia in.

De acuerdo que necesitamos cambios. Nunca me ha gustado Ailton, Palencia es un tronco.

While I agree with you guys, as well, I think Tuca might deserve one more chance with Pumas. These last two torneos have been mediocre.
I also think we need to stop relying so much on el Parejita. This guy is not that great.

Parejita saved our asses when our forwards were on the scoring drought. Ailton has too as of late, although not much else from him though.
This year has been mediocre but we really had no choice. Had to stay away from relegation and play defensively. With that though we wouldnt have done much in the liguilla had we gotten in.
I agree with Texmex on playing some youngsters and dropping some of those guys. However by dropping Paco, and Iniguez we will need some suitable replacements, be it by canteranos or refuerzos.
We need to have a more consistent threat up front. Scoccos a good supporting striker but we need a full on center forward.
Anyone know how much Cruz Azul wants for Sabah?

This is true, but still. I'm not saying he is a bad player at all, or that we should get rid of him, but maybe we can try some other people out.
Sabah would be a very good addition to our attack.
leon10, are you from Leon, Gto. at all? What do you think about the team; can we get back to Primera this tournament? I haven't seen them play in so long.

We could play Parejita in a different role and have someone else start on the right side but I think its best to go with what works.
Our defensive line looks well. Our mid looks pretty good as well although not the way Tuca has it. If prefer to go with something like this
---Chiapas---------------------Parejita-----
---------Leandro-------Sancho---------
Sabah would be ideal up front with Scocco in support.
Im not sure if Roro is here on loan but if he isnt it would be good to look for a replacement, be it from the cantera or a refuerzo, seeing as how hes 37 now.

There a few things I disagree with here
I would say that Apertura was a good season, we finished second overall, even if we did go out of the liguilla a bit limply. I think that having effectively killed off the real threat of going down in that first half, it made the second half difficult to pin down what we were doing - Tuca wanted to build a team that was hard to beat, but he made one that didn't know how to win.
As to young players, I think his mix is spot on (as to Velarde, he started all games, bar two, and he was subbed on in one of those, he was only subbed off 3 times in the 2 half seasons, he couldn't have played much more!), we don't want to be playing youth for youth's sake - remember what happened to Espaņa?
I understand what you mean about Tuca going, but I would want to hold on to him for now - as always with this we have to be certain that whoever we would bring in would be better - who would that be? I would like to see Palencia and Iņiguez going, but Ailton staying. Morales will be back from Necaxa, where he only got 73 mins - I am certain he would have got more with us if he had stayed.
I don't see Chiapa's long term future on the left wing, he did OK there and grew, but his natural position would be midfield, or defensive-midfielder, where I think he has more to offer.
Talking of going, I would say that the overall problem with the team was actually in the middle of the park. Leandro and Sancho simply could not get going together at all, and we failed in this area again and again. I would say, in fact, that it was this failing that led us to not truly run any game this Clausura. I feel that Leandro plays further up when Ailton is on the pitch, and this is what we need him to do. Also Sancho very rarely stood up and demanded the midfield, as he should.
Maybe its time to say goodbye to Leandro, whilst we can get something for him. Or is that sacrilegious?
As for Parejita, its not his fault if we find ourselves relying on him, he is excellent, and is mature now, and has the ability for the cross which you know is a goal when it leaves his foot, the sort strikers dream of. Ok, maybe it only comes a few times a season, but there is no need to think of him going, two examples from this term would be at Veracruz, and the last game away at Tigres. For me he was clearly man of the Clausura for us, followed by Veron.
Anyway, my thoughts such as they are. What next for me? Well, sadly I am leaving Mexico in July/August, so I am not sure when I will stand in CU again, I am moving to El Salvador, so have high hopes of seeing them on the telly every week, but my first hand reports are now over. Probably a good thing, I babble on far too much!! Thanks all of you.
