Hey everyone, I was thinking about either making a banner or more likely a flag. (Blue/black or Blue/white check with KC in the middle.)
Anyone know what supplies/places I would have to go to everything together for a project like this?

Depends on how big you want to make it. If you want to make a standard 3' x 5' flag (that's what most of ours are), then you could use what I use: 200 denier nylon. You can get it at any fabric shop. For lettering, it just depends on how you want to do it....you could glue on letters, or have them sewn on, or paint them.
Here is one I did a few weeks ago using the 200 denier nylon and heat-seated fabric paint:

I also used the 200 denier for the blue/white stripped flag I wave at the games (and is typicaly flying at the tailgates).
Let me know if you have any specific questions (or you can send a note to Spoon or Szazzy as they have both done flags/banners as well)

The best way is to have a design, a laptop, and a projector. Blow it up on the wall and trace it. An overhead projector with your design turned into a transparency would work as well.
When we did 30 or so player flags, we created stencils for the lettering. Print out the letters on a piece of paper, glue the paper to a thick piece of illustration board, then cut out the letters.
You can freehand it obviously, just make sure you step back often to make sure your perspective is right.
