a great player and a great person. the only one who lets his real inner person talk in interviews, not just his onze mondial avatar...

and what condition! at his age it's normal to tire out after 60 minutes, but i don't think nino could find fatigue in the dictionary....

Yesterday, all of a sudden there have been reports linking (http://www.leprogres.fr/sports/football/855488.html) Wiltord with a move away from Lyon. :(

Crazier still is that his destination might be to the Middle East (http://fr.sports.yahoo.com/10052007/35/lyon-wiltord-s-en-va.html).

Even more insane? The unsubstantiated rumor that he macked on Fred's wife.

it's clear nino's history, he cleared out his locker and hasn't practiced since being left off for the PSG match.

qatar isn't such a crazy destination... we picked him up on a free 3 years ago, i doubt his cellphone's ringing off the hook (?? another expression gone the way of the buttonhook :p ...)

hard to know what goes on between him and ged, or why he hasn't played much this year. i have only been to one practice this year, maybe wiltord just doesn't have it anymore... he's had a lot of "stomach flu" this season...

as for hitting on fred's wife, that seems stranger than strange... first of all, unless fred's an exception from all the other brazilians here, he's a practicing born again christian. on nino's side, he's apparently no playboy but a romantic looking for his true âme soeur...

nino denies in no uncertain terms the qatar qonnection, and seems to point to his remaining between saône et rhône (literally; i believe he lives on the presqu'ile, one of the few players not living in the monts du lyonnais...)

His move to Rennes is now complete. Too bad, Nino was one of Lyon's best players.

I remember reading the olweb boards before he signed and there were quite a few people who didnt think he would come. They didnt think OL could get a big name player like that coming from the Premiership. Quite a few fans were very skeptical about him getting signed. I remember Barca were also supposedly interested. He was signed very late in the transfer window. I think Aulas was promising a big name by the end of the window closing. Now that he's gone I think its safe to say that his 3 year stay at Lyon was a success much more so than his 4 year stay at Arsenal. When he signed with OL he was much needed at the time and an intregal part of the team but now its different and he's not that important to the overall team anymore

Hopefully he'll be able to get the best out of Briand at Rennes since that can be quite a formidable duo up front. I really think with a better manager Rennes can be a top 4-5 team.
