i've been looking for a new pair of shin guards and i have no idea what to get. I used to use larger ones with ankle socks, but they seem to get in my way so i'm not sure. I'm looking for some recommendations for shin guards under 15 dollars.

I've got a few pairs of those, and love them. But I buy the other sleeves that aren't silky.. used to be the opposite, but the silky ones seem like they don't ever stay up anymore.. so I just use them for practices.

I got these recently and I'm happy with them. Extremely light, quite cheap and will stay in place without sleeves if used with good quality socks. If you're looking for serious protection though, these might not be your best choice.

I use the J-Guards too. And i also use i think its Nike Tiempo ones. They just slip down your socks too and were really cheap but they are good pads.

I had a pair of OSI's.
Make sure you get them in the place you're gonna want them in forever when you form them.

Nope. They're solid as a rock once they've been formed.

the lites have no vent holes, doesn't it get really sweaty wearing them?
I'm thinking of getting those or the J-guards. I thought J-guards were for kids :o J = junior, apparently not...

That's what I thought 'J' stood for too at first, but the box sticker says "adult unisex." I've been using them for a while now and I'm very happy with them.

Nope, They have a nice dry fit type material on the back end that is comfy and dry. I have never had a sweat problem with them.

That's good, do they slide down easy? maybe i'll get them or these Tiempo Guard II, they must be the replacement for the 'Team Guard'

As long as you use good quality socks you should not have any problem with sliding. I've been using the velcro straps to hold up my socks only and the guards stay in place just fine.

if they dont hold in place properly just buy sleeves. My local footy shop sells sleeves for 5 dollars canadian which isnt very much at all.

I meant the shin guard straps that you put above and below the shin guard over the socks to keep the guards in place and also to prevent the socks from sliding down. You buy them separately and they come in a pack of 4 and cost about 6-8 bucks. I only use the top ones and the only time my J guards shifted was after an aggressive tackle. I personally have never used sleeves; just seems like another hassle to deal with to me.

If anybody needs sleeves
I just bought XARA sleaves. Their good quality and stay tight. They also have a sleeve in the middle to put the shin guard so it stays in place better.
