Maybe it's a sign of things to come in the CL final?

Great news. And to win the game at Old Trafford to force the shootout is outstanding.

Here's a link to the shootout/celebrations:

One more note: Steve Heighway confirmed he will be retiring as Academy Director at the end of the season. Nice way to finish up.

Well in, the young lads. Lindfield looked very good. Even while the skanks were booing.

Senior team, take note. It can be done.

Not that either team played well or anything. That was a pretty appalling match.

Your team didn't lose or anything....did it....? :D

After Roma all the grapes are tasting sour. Never mind, that taste will go in time....unless Chel$ki come in ahead of you in the last match.

Oh right. So you were there at the match? Didn't think so.

I was one of the few United supporters who stayed to applaud whilst you lifted the cup as you were the better team. Neither team really deserved to lift a trophy after playing in a match that dull.

If you're really here complaining about the quality of play in a youth tournament, then you need to get a f'ing life.

I expected poor quality football. Not dull football. D:

The victory means Liverpool Under-18s have now gone two years without defeat in youth football's premier competition. What a way for the retiring Heighway to bow out.

The triumph was witnessed by new Reds co-owner George Gillett, whose presence provided yet another indication of the safe hands in which former chairman David Moores has placed the club.

Mr Gillett's smile as the travelling Kop erupted spoke volumes, while the hoards of Reds watching around the country will be hoping this is just the first of many trophies under our new American owners. . .

Attendance: 24,347.

Liverpoolfc.tv man-of-the match: Robbie Threlfall.

This is a good thing, are any of the more talented players like Lindfield going to break into the first team? Or are these players all destined for lower Prem or Championship teams?
