United go into this second leg at Old Trafford with a 2-1 lead sealed by Hewson's penalty at Anfield. Notable injury worries for United are Craig Cathcart, who is out with a long-term knee injury gained while training with the senior team.

Sir Alex has asked United fans to come out to OT and beat the 20,000 supporters who came to see the first leg at Anfield. "I just hope now that our support gets behind these young lads at Old Trafford," Sir Alex told Manchester United Radio.

"They deserve a big crowd because they've done a fantastic job getting there and it's not been an easy ride for them. They've played some good teams to get where they are.

"They didn't play that well in the first game but it was a very difficult game in front of a passionate crowd at Anfield. I hope they can now seal the result."

Game will be available on Sky Sports 3 at 7:30 pm, UK.

No Cathcart for this throws it open again if Putteril and Lindfield have similar games to the 1st leg.

I expect a far better performance from Galbraith, Hewson and Wellbeck in particular. They are better than they showed away.

Shame the dips fans seem somewhat seperated from our lot. Should of put 'em side by side to crank up the atmosphere a bit for the yoof.

Brandy's at it again, very good build up there, nice cross from Wellbeck no one to meet it, however.

Tonight or period?

Honestly mate, I haven't seen that much of him and have only been going off others have said of him for most of the time as he's been talked about as one with potential for a long time now.

Of my brief looks at him, well he's quickish, likes a dribble and isn't afraid to shoot. Suppose at a key stage in his development he is going to have to learn when to do things alone and when to play the team game as he does seem to run with his head down occasionally. If he does that then he looks like he may have a chance.

That's not to say that I want all of his individuality hammered out of him as they would at some clubs, that would be a real shame. He's still at an early age and there's plenty of time to learn all that in the future. Our Ronny has only just learned much of that now so time is on his side and he's hardly predictable now that he seems to have grasped that concept a little more.

Like I said though, I haven't really seen much and general consensus might be that he doesn't really need to work on that as far as I know, just an initial impression on my part.

Off the ball he already seems to work hard/well for the sake of the team with runs into channels etc.

Edit: Not long after I said that he plays in Welbeck and shows great awareness. :D

Best chance of the game so far falls to Liverpool. A driven cross in from the right hand side met by the head of Linfield (sp?) who puts it over the bar from about 10 yards out.

Are we really missing Cathcart out there again? Linfield abused our backline last game because of his absence.

Not really, that was after about 38 minutes and it was the first real danger we've faced. Liverpool seem to be having much of the posession but have been struggling to do anything with it and aren't even putting that many crosses in.

A minute or so after that they got in again down the right and someone with an unpronouncable name that looks like Patrick Berger tried an overhead kick that went harmlessly wide. Other than those two occasiona they've pretty much struggled to get anything into the box and the vast majority of this game is taking place in midfield areas.

HT 0-0.

United looking their best on the break and once again, Liverpool who have had most of the posession seem a little devoid of ideas at times and are unable to do much with it. Suppsoe you've got to give credit to our lads for playing a good containing game defensively?

Quite comfortable for our kids in the main and overall pretty uninspiring.

Brandy has probably been our main shining light with a couple of runs and it's noticeable that he's pulling over to the right hand side rather alot and we've aimed a few balls up to him. Eckersley also trying to do his best to get involved down that flank too. When he's had a chance to get his foot on the ball Welbeck has done quite well also.

Can't find any streams. The sites I normally use only have UEFA Cup streams for today.

Liverpool showing much more willingness to get the ball into the box in the very early stages of the second half. 3 crosses already although they've been poorish and one blocked.

Drinkwater nicks the ball of a 'pool player in midfield, plays in Brandy through the middle who has to see off the attentions of his marker before shooting low, saved by the 'pool keepers legs.

As I'm typing this Lindfield swivels on the edge of the box and it's tipped onto the post by Zieler, nice save.
