i thought i bring up a thread discussing some of the stuff that goes on in the USA Supporters since we have many games coming up this summer.
firstly, i am not the person in charge, no one is. whats the difference between us and Sams Army? well, my opinion is that the group started b/c of things we didn't like about sams. i am not going to go into bashing SA, so what we are about is
representing the national team at matches putting aside our club teams to STAND the entire match, and VERBALLY support the team.
we are about being loud and supporting the team during the game. sure tailgating is important, but thats a side stuff, the most important thing is during the game.
if you are interested in meeting mostly younger, energy charged, people who mostly wear red (to support the team) brings flags/banners, and sing their a$$ off and stand the whole match, we are the ones you want to be with. racism is not tolorated, but we also don't worry about saying a 'dirty' word or trashing the other team, or care if the soccer mom 100 rows over is upset with what we are saying.
so if you are interested in joing us or getting more info, check out USA Supporters (http://www.usasupporters.com) or post here.

we also are putting together a 'non-official' banner/flag for each game the team plays. the banner will not be owned by one person, but by all who belong to the supporters group. the flag/banner will be passed from one person to the other for whomever will be going to the next game, this way we can have it at each match.
we have no official logo/design/whatever and this is not copy-righted, so if you like it, go ahead and make one yourself if you'd like. if you are interested in helping with the costs (more the merrier) post here for more info, or joining the mailing list group at USA Supporters (http://www.usasupporters.com) although i am unsure of the exact numbers (maybe someone else has it) i beleive we have a couple of hundred people on the list, and new members are always welcome.
view the banner/flag here, the tentitive size is 8"x14"

I think that Sams Army is great compared to the average US fan. They are louder and bring more stuff. But I think that most USA Supporters feel that they are more interested in tail gating and stuff than singing. they also feel that they dont sing the full 90 and they dont really show as much support as they should and it became full up with old guys who want cheaper tickets.

yeah, that, and a I've been to soo many games where these stupid SA guys bring drums and then don't even know how to use them. This group doesn't really go to matches to just watch the matches, we go to be apart of the matches by giving our guys that extra bit of energy they need. The in-game problems with SA have more to deal with a few individuals who deflate their entire crowd than with most SA members. For ex., a bunch a fat, old guys just stand around and don't want to sing and whatnot. That is divisive b/c no one wants to stand next to them b/c they are fat and old. so it breaks up the vital continuity of the group.

Are any of you coming to the US vs. Paraguay match at Crew Stadium on July 6th. I mean, I've always wanted to get involved with Sam's Army, but anything like what you guys are talking about sounds great to me (and also to the other 9 guys I'll be bringing to the game.)

I'd like to join up as well. Could you post the age and weight limits so I can tell whether I am eligible for membership.
Thank you for your consideration.

Personally, I resent being called old, fat, and male and unwilling to sing. I'm quite young, female, quite rowdy, and quite well equipped to handle a drum, thankyouverymuch.
I'm with Sam's Army since these wonderful assumptions have really just turned me off USA Supporters. Thanks.
