You guys didn't cower under the overhang, much like another supporter's group that will remain nameless (cough METRO cough) and you brought it in that downpour for 90 minutes.
I don't know why I'm even typing this, you're probably all on the way to the hospital.

I wasn't out for rep guys, but of course it's appreciated.
Just some props from one hardcore supporter's club to another.
We can go back to hating eachother now.

I've seen some posts in here and in various other threads with positive comments about the Cauldron last night. I would like to hear from everyone with pros and/or con about the Cauldron during the game or about the tailgate prior to the game. If you feel uncomfortable publicly posting a "con", feel free to PM me.
Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Loved the new location. The sun is going to suck, but the view of the game is so much better. Add to the fact that the cauldron just looked bigger and more open (less segregated) makes the move a wise one.

I didn't mind the location. Better view, miss the players walking by, will not like the sun. Everything I thought it would be. Not as good as 114, but it's not bad either.

I think it is better than 114 for a couple of reasons:
1. More room to grow. The section allows us to spread out and bump against others nearby. Sect 114 never allowed us to do that.
2. Visibility, both for those in the stadium and on TV. That visibility also allows us to grow and give us a little more credibility amongst other fans watching.
If the only downside is the sun and the contact with players I can live with that.
I was higher up in the section in the second half and I could see people coming down from under the overhang and joining the section. It looked very impressive being spread across the section(s) rather then up like in 114.

When I watched the game on TV again, the section looked pretty good spread out like it was.

The only problem with this section as compared to 114 is that we're away from the players when they come on and off the field, but I can live with that.

They did acknowledge us at the end and they are not allowed to throw us their shirts anyway.
If you wanna kiss up to the players go to all the Wiz events around town ;)

The Cauldron was 3x louder from the new location than when in 114. Participation from the rest of the crowd was much higher because of it.

which is what pretty much everyone around the league has been saying.

That's the key right there. Take NY for example. None of the casual fans sing what the ESC are singing because they are off by themselves. With La Barra Brava and Screaming Eagles in DC, we are right there in front of the casual fans. Our singing and chanting is contagious.

Exactly. If a great stadium atmosphere is the true goal of the Cauldron, then sightlines (which are better), and player interaction (which is worse) shouldn't factor into the equation much at all. It should be all about what makes for the best stadium atmosphere and the most fan participation, and that is without a doubt being where the Cauldron is now.

I just hope what you have said here is taken into account when laying out the seating in the new stadium.

Exactly -- new Cauldron should be facing the TV cameras at the halfway line.
Put the high dollar season ticket holders on the opposite side with their prawn sandwiches ;)
