You have to figure Nasri has as well. I think if we give Ben Arfa enough starts, he could, too.

I agree. The reason why I think Nasri may not have guaranteed his place yet is because we all know Raymond loves to take along a bunch of defensive midfielders even if the majority of them have no intention of starting, as in Mavuba, Diaby, Diarra(s), etc. Benzema on the other hand is well above Cissé/Saha in the pecking order among attackers, and he deserves to be.

4 goals in 5 matches makes him leading scorer in L1... which perhaps makes those who said OL needed to buy a big name striker feel a bit sheepish...

then there are those who will say that at least two of those goals were just opportunistic tap ins... to which one can only answer: trezeguet. inzaghi. van nistlerooy.

oh, karim is more than just a renard de surfaces (a fox in the box)... but those vulpine qualities are indispensable, and he's got them.

I say go with youth. Give Karim a season with plenty of starts...why not?
Also concerning the opportunistic tap ins, part of getting those goals
for players like Pippo, RVN, or Trez is being in the right place at the right time.
Obviously, Karim has a nose for goal; there is nothing wrong with that, unless
you are the opposing side.

look at the goal he scored against ASSE, it's not an "almost own goal" he scored. the "almost own goal" is the one janot saved! the goal benzema scored is the one pippo killed us with in 2006, the one no one on our club, not even fred, has scored with any regularity since sonny.
