I was told that Kelme offers some good wide cleats. I have wide feet and recently switched to a Diadora from an Adidas. I'm looking to buy a higher end shoe. I play mostly on turf and sand (I live in a place where it rains a lot) and want something with the long cleats on it instead of the round dots. I saw the Kelme Tiburon online. Is that an ideal shoe for someone with a wide foot? Anyone have any other suggestions? Are there good places to buy this stuff online? Ideas are appreciated. Thanks.

Puma cleats also run wide. I wear Kings as my standard boot. I like the traction of their bladed styles, look for the soft ground models.

I've got wide feet and Kelme cleats do fit well for width. Undortunately, the pair I have suffers from some poor worknmanship and has a rather jagged edge of the leather folding down which cuts across the top of my toes in one of the shoes, so even thought the width is fine, they still mess with my feet. I've tried playing in them long enough to soften them up, but to no avail. Probably just an odd occurance, but that's my experience with 'em. Shame too since I otherwise feel confident I would like them quite a bit.
I also have some Diadoras that fit well and are cut very wide. No problems with them either, so I wear them most all the time.
I will say, particularly if you have trouble getting shoes that fit well, you should go try on whatever shoes you want rather than relying on what people say about the fit and then ordering online. Even within brands, fit varies.
The most important thing is that your shoes fit well. A poor fitting pair of shoes, even if they are otherwsie great shoes will be bad for you. Similarly, a good fitting pair, even if of somewhat lesser quality otherwise, will be better for you.
And, don't try to get shoes in a larger size to make up for a lack of width, the last thing you want is extra length dragging the ground when you're striking the ball because your shoes are too long. Shop around and try on until you find a pair that fits your feet. Just because your favorite players wears a type of shoe, that does not mean it is the best shoe for your foot.

True, but they can be returned online and there aren't many wide shoes around and I no longer trust anything people in my local soccer stores say.

I had narrow shoes that fit well and my orthopaedist (ankle specialist) noted that they were why I was having ankle and lower leg problems. In this case, poorly fitting wide boots will give less risk of injury. I get your point though. I'm going to try on the narrow FG Predators here and get an idea of what size I need and then order the wide ones online. I can return them if they don't fit and they're roo leather, so as long as the length is ok, everything should be fine.

I'm not exactly sure how you had narrow shoes that fit well if you have wide feet. They may have stretched to be adequate, but they couldn't have been ideal, especially if they were causing ankle problems.

They fit very well. It was just the base wasn't wide enough to accommodate my foot planting properly. I was sad to see them go as they were comfortable. It would be ideal if I could shop for this stuff locally like you recommended, but nobody stocks wide cleats. All you get is oh well this grand is supposed to be wider than this brand from the staff. I'm going with the Adidas WF since they're built for wide feet. Nobody local, even the Adidas store themselves, sells them.
