Do the spurs have any type of exchange program or relationship with any American club. Just curious? Thanks in advance.

I don't think so. Not yet, anyway. It seems the way forward though. Chelsea and the LA Galaxy link up, Arsenal and the Colorado link up, Man Utd had a link up with the Yankees (for merchandising) so maybe they will go to the Red Bull side.

Spurs should link with Toronto FC then I can have a real reason to support them :D

Spurs will be looking in Belgium first, either FC Brussels or Club Brugge probably. As well as an academy in South Africa. Both are on the horizon, talks have taken place over the past few months.

I am kind of hoping they will link up with D.C. they are the most storied of the clubs in MLS. On a different note the class of play in MLS is light years better than what it was 10 years ago.

Spurs and Revolution would be a fantastic pairing. Especially for me.

Haven't we suffered enough, my friend?

Your second sentence couldn't be more true. The level of play in MLS has risen exponentially since then. In fact, I've seen an increase in the level just from last year to this year (although Toronto just looks horrid!).

As for Spurs linking up with an MLS side, I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen at some point. Personally, I'd love it if they came in once Philly got a team, but DC would be the next-best option!

I second that.

I third that! :)

Waiting for the Philly team to really get into MLS. Have been to a couple of DC games but I know they'll be a big rival to the Philly team.

See i knew there would be responses like this.. the Philly guys want a team in Philly, you want a NE side.. and I, with my move to Ontario in the pipeline, want it to be Toronto :D

Interesting, this I didn't know. I'd rather read it on an official site though, anyone can edit wikipedia and this entry doesn't have a citation yet. I'll go searching...!

I do believe that we are still the final frontier for soccer/calcio/football and in the coming decades we will see a gold rush of sorts for players and fans. I firmly believe that with soccer being the number one youth sport in America for the last 20 years or so, that more and more Americans (Players and Fans) will be seen playing for the top clubs in the world.

I am waiting for that first truly stud American player to be in the top XI for spurs.

Storied? Really? Who's the most storied franchise in NFL Eueope or Major League Lacrosse?

You are looking for the word: successful. in 2050, storied can start to be applied to the MLS.

:p

Feel better about yourself now? I hope so, and have a good day.

I see alot of Taylor Twellman watching the Revs games, and the kid's good. Not sure if he can cut it in the Prem., no one really knows until someone's over there, but I wouldn't mind him filling Mido's role as fourth striker in a few years.

Even though I'm not his biggest fan after the Dynamo beat the Revs in last season's championship game, Brian Ching is another great MLS striker.

1. I think Mr. Steven Nash would be mighty upset to see fellow Spurs fans(Tottenham, that is) turn their back to him in the NBA playoffs.

2. Josmer Altidore to me seems the likliest next American 'stud' to find Prem glory.

Jozy could be a very good one. I just hope we don't place unrealistic expectations on him, since he's only 17. But he's got the size, speed, and instincts to be a really, really good player.

Adu in my mind is still going to be better just wait and see. Doubt me if u want but if he comes to the EPL, Man U will get him and if he goes to spain Real Madrid will get him. Yes he has been quiet for a little but give him some time to live up to the hype.

I'm only half kidding....as for the inevitable accusations of "poser" and "wannabe", spare me!

Anyway, North America is just crying out for a sports club named after a character in Shakespeare. :p
