Obviously, I am bored. Inspired a quiz I found from another forum(see Bigsoccer's history forum), I am starting this for soccer. PM me your answer. I post the winner a week from today, but no prize for the winner.
1)He shared the same first name with the greatest player from the country of his birth. He had given up soccer when he was 21 years old, but went on to play in a WC finals when he was 33 years old. He survived a terrorist attack. Who is he?
2)He won a World Cup. He scored two goals in that tournament. And there was something wrong with his hand. Who is he?
3)His father was a Red Army soldier. He is also the oldest goalscorer in history of his national team. He played in 3 World Cup Finals.
4) He played in two World Cups with two completely different names. Who is he?
5)Vinnie Jones played a killer in Hollywood, but this player is a real killer. Who is he? Hint: He played in one WC Finals for a big team, but not in a starring role.
6)His parents were from Country A, but he was born in country B across the border from Country A. He chose to play for Country B even through he held the citizenship of Country A and not Country B. Country A also considered Country B, their greatest rival. He went on to assist on a goal against Country A at the most important game in Country A's history up to that point. Who is he? The name of Country A and B?
7)They shared the same surname and first name. They played in one WC on the same team. One other teammate had a very, very similiar surname. Who are they?
8)He played for 3 different national teams and 1 unofficial national team. His father-in-law was his coach during his most successful club career. Who is he?
9)He and his father are legends in his first ever club. He was born on the day his father played a derby for his club against the cross-town rival. His father made his name in the club history by scoring an important goal against a club that he(the son) later joined. That goal won an important title for their club. Who is he(the son)? What club did his father score against that made him a legend?
10) He played in Spain, England, Italy and France. He won two European Cups. He was scheduled to leave on a flight that crashed. Who is he?

panucci is definitely #10, but something "wrong with hand," well maradona did something wrong with his hand, is that what that means, but I don't remember his hand being injured?? maybe it is someone else

More hint:
2)He won a World Cup. He scored two goals in that tournament. And there was something wrong with his hand. Who is he? Hint: Althrough he is not Maradona and he was not from Argentina, you are getting close.
3)His father was a Red Army soldier. He is also the oldest goalscorer in history of his national team. He played in 3 World Cup Finals. He did not play for a Communist country. His country won a few WCs. More Hint: Spartak should know this. He is a defender.
5)Vinnie Jones played a killer in Hollywood, but this player is a real killer. Who is he? Hint: He played in one WC Finals for a big team, but not in a starring role. It has something to do with his surname. His first name starts with a "D". Hint: He won a WC without killing anyone.
He won a WC. He was a defender. Hint: The two countries were at war during WW II. He was born shortly after the war. So he must be from the late 1960's and 1970's generation. The goal was scored by one of the greatest striker in the game's history.
7)They shared the same surname and first name. They played in one WC on the same team. One other teammate had a very, very similiar surname. Who are they? Another teammate (the leading scorer for that WC team) has the same first name. Hint: The team is from Europe.
8)He played for 3 different national teams and 1 unofficial national team. His father-in-law was his coach during his most successful club career. Who is he? He liked to drink. Hint: The unofficial national team still exists, but always plays in friendly matches. The player in question is dead. He is among the greatest ever player in his club history. The club is considered one of the greatest club.

That has to be it. Di Stefano played for Argentina, Colombia, and Spain. But I never knew he played for Catalunya.

5) One last hint: he won a WC between 1974 to 2002.
6) This is tougher than I thought. The player in question played for Valencia, but he was not from Spain.
7) The leading scorer on that team was well-known. He played for Barcelona. He did well for them, but I would not consider him an all-time great for Barcelona. He was known as a gentleman on the field.
