Ahhh summer. Warm mornings, days at the beach, barbeques, police arresting people who don't fit their moral codes. I just love summer.

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iranian police have launched a crackdown on women's dress before the summer season when soaring temperatures typically tempt many to flout the strict Islamic dress code, witnesses and Iranian state media said on Sunday.

There are a lot of women in the “moral police” , I call them Fatemeh Commando like the one in that video . A male police officer cant touch a women so they have the women do it for them .

I like how the guy filming was telling that cab to go with the girl and not wait or pay attention to the nun...

I don’t know , I cant speak for every incident but I know that a lot of Iranian women do show resistance in matters like this . The government tries this before every summer and its never a successful campaign but since Iran is in the news every minute the Western press thought this was newsworthy but this isn’t new to us Iranians , its been happening every year .

Lets not forget how these mullahs enforced the hejab on our women after the overthrow of Shahs government . When people first showed resistance to the mandatory dress code the mullahs started throwing acid on their faces and they would do the same thing today if they ever tried to fight against this stupid dress code but its encouraging to see women in Iran at least trying to defend a little bit of their rights . They are not fighting to wear western type cloths , they are only fighting to show a little bit of their beauty but these mullahs see no beauty , who knows what they see , I don’t even consider them humans . They should be preaching ( even that’s dangerous ) not governing .

This is wrong on so many levels, but we're never going to agree, so no point in arguing!
There is no way that video, funny as it is, is about enforcement of the Islamic dress code! That old woman just doesn't look like the ones that do this sort of thing!
To address the question asked, this happens every year because every year there is a new fashion that little by little corrodes the Islamic dress. But apparently, what is different this year is that they intend to enforce it (normally it is sparce enforcement at best - in some parts they just give up). However, even very conservative clerics like Shahroudi who yields significant power criticised this approach saying it will cause the complete opposite effect than intended and is the wrong way of going about things.
Simply put, same old same old.

Bob I would agree with your comments about the video only if that guy wasn’t telling the driver not to stop for that chadori women .
And secondly as I pointed out t they do this every year . And lets not forget that Tehran is not Iran , in most cities in Iran women are dressed like how the government wants them to be . If this resistance was on a larger scale then the government would use methods such as throwing acid .

Well said, Tehran doesnt resemble Iran, and in many smaller cities and villages people not just dont mind wearing that dress they actually want to. We had "Khal`e Hejab" and some people resisted that, now we have islamic dress code and some people are resisiting that as well, the problem is we always take everything to the extreme and people dont like being forced to do something so they resist; and as Bob said it will have opposite effect.

There are a handful of moral police who are women. When I went to Iran after the WC from USA they all of a sudden were harassing my grandmother for wearing sandles. They said, "Don't you have any morals?" I responded back, "Oh you're really tough picking on an old lady when there are so many problems you gusy need to worry about like perhaps war against USA."
They looked at me kind of funny at furst but backed off when they foundout I was a US citizen.

What? So you used your US passport to go to Iran(doubtful)? Because if you didnt, then it doesnt matter where you are from, you will still be treated and held responsible for what you say as an Iranian one.

You don’t use your passport to enter Iran but they know where you come from . All they have to is to look at your ticket or your luggage tag. I remember going back in 2002 , at customs they opened all my bags and started searching through my $hit so I really go angry and said they treat us like this in all airports ( this is when I only had a Iranian passport ) and its ********ked up that were being treated like terrorists for entering our own country . The rihsso guy looked at me for a second and said nothing and continued searching my stuff. And there was the time in 1999 when I went to renew my shenasname and the people working the office found out I live in the US ( don’t remember how ) , they were all nice people , they started asking me the US Iran game in 98 and the everything you can imagine about the US .

no offense to muslims users but islam nor it's promoters benefited iran in anyway.
getting on topic when i was 8-9 i went to iran for the first time. i remember some dirty a-hole was preaching to my dad about how wearing a short sleeve shirt isn't islamic and was calling him "brother left and right". my dad who was talking to his friend and was cut off in the middle of his speech got really mad and listened to the basiji for a while...and said (i will never forget this) "bebeen bache kooni, to ya dahaneto mibandi ya inke man pore khoonesh mikonam" then pushed him away. his facial expression was priceless.
