If big clubs come calling 2 years from now cause he is staying with us for at least another year we need to keep him and spend whatever we can to keep him here. If it is a lot let it be he is going to be part one of the top 3 strikers in the EPL in the next couple years if he isnt already. Maybe Hargreaves will want to come to spurs. He is a great Dmid and from what it sounds like he understands that were on the up and up. Doubtful but maybe. I would love to see him here. Anyway berbs is one of the best and he needs to be a spur for at least the next 8 years for us to make our mark on the EPL.

Especially not at the silly price Bayern is looking for. Personally, I think they're (wisely) trying to milk every penny out of ManU that they can. No reason for Spurs to step into that morass.

We've got Zokora as our starting d-mid, and I'm more than happy with him as our starter. He's been excellent in the past six weeks or so, now that he's gotten used to his teammates and the league and overcome the bout of malaria he had in the middle of the season. I have no reason to think he'll be anything other than outstanding next year.

Agreed Zokora is going to be great but what does this mean for Huddie. I mean do we really want to see him full time at Center midfield I dont. I hope that Huddie gains some speed so we can put him at full back. Or I would also be happy about him getting defensive and maybe seeing a move to centerback. I really dont know what is going on with Huddlestone and where is Gardner I dont want him on the pitch but is he even on the team anymore. We really should make a move for Woodgate if the chance arises.

I don't foresee Hudds gaining enough speed (if any) that would enable him to play fullback/outside back. He could fill in in a pinch in the center, but his ideal place is as a deep-lying playmaker. He needs someone fast and fit enough to provide cover for him, since his lack of pace means he can get caught out on defense if he gets pulled slightly out of position.

And on this whole Hargreaves talking about Berbs thing...I wonder if this is a little bit of tapping up coming from a player who will almost certainly be going to ManU. Maybe doing a little of Sir Alex's dirty work for him?

Didn't think of that, good point. I really hope Berba has some loyalties, though.

I think he does have loyalty. The fact that he said one of the reasons he signed with us (and not ManU, among others) was because we'd shown interest for a long time is indicative of the kind of person he is. I think he wants Champions League soccer and thinks he can get it at Spurs, but I also imagine he doesn't want to wait too long. I think he'll stick around for at least next season and see where we end up at that point. If there's marked improvement from this season and we're in the hunt for the CL for a good part of the season (esp. if we somehow get into the CL), then I think he sticks around.

There are some things that loyalty just can't overcome.
