I have been completely and utterly out of touch with anything having to do with music for the last year, due to the fact that Korea is a total wasteland when it comes to anything that isn't either bubblegum or Korean-language hip-hop. There is virtually no rock scene in Seoul whatsoever, and I am forced to go to Japan to see decent live shows. I am starving.
Those of you on this board who know me well - and there are a fair few of you that do - know my taste. Have at it.

the wildhearts (my favorite band) are popular in Japan (they're British) and they have a new album out today. haven't heard it yet, so I can't vouch personally. but that band rocks. earth vs. the wildhearts is their best.

The National's new album, Boxer, is fan-farging-tastic. Due May 22nd.
And, from last year, Asobi Seksu's Citrus is a good choice if you like shoegaze.

Peter Bjorn and John is my favorite of the recent music I've purchased.

I love that first single, how's the rest of the record in comparison?

Sorry I never responded to this question. I'd say the whole album is solid. There's another song that doesn't involve whistling, Let's Call the Whole Thing Off, that's as good or better than that one. When I first listened to this CD, I thought it had a Morrisey-Wilco feel to it. I think it was the vocals that gave me that idea.

Voxtrot is ruling my iTunes at present.
