I've lost count of the amount of times he has fallen to the floor like some sort of pansy after being flicked by someone who's 5 foot nothing. I won't even start on the open goals...

This thread title makes it seem like its only about Baptista. Poor choice, IMO. Especially as Baptista isn't even going to be transfered, he's just a loan player.

OK OK, we can quash it. :) I'll stop trying to be funny. We just need Yoss to show up and save us!

Yoss is at a wedding tonight, so we're going to have to hope Matt or Rick are around.

There's no rush. And i've never felt that transfer threads needed particularly funny titles... so maybe you should name it next time, Mikey. ;) :D

A question - one that has been asked in the takeover thread - who will handle the transfers now that dein is gone?

Is anyone on the current board capable of going out there and striking the sort of deals we used to get with dein? A wenger transfer season without dein working the background will be very interesting.

Also does anyone think that because of the controversy surrounding dein's departure,

and the fact he is said to support the takeover because the board can't supply wenger with what he feels are the neccessary funds,

that the the board would purposely give wenger extra money this summer and encourage him to make a big purchase to "nullify" that possible arguement?

Very strange. I was just thinking the same thing.

I think we will over pay for at least one player just to look ambitious.

I dont think we will over pay just because that is not AW's style. I agree though that he might be pressured to bring in a rather high profile signing upwards of 20 mil to "save face" in light of the situation. The thing is though, im not worried by this proposition because if AW did bring in a high profile signing we know that he would be top class and would probably be of great benefit to the club so everything would work out fine. I think AW would make the best of his money spent no matter if he is shelling out for a youngster or a more established senior player. Just a thought.

Wenger doesn't make moves to please the crowd. And he does't overspend, i don't see him changing now.

We can't get rid of Baps....He had a brilliant effort on that header that sailed just inches wide yestarday that would have put us up 3-1 :)

I forget.......

Who F*** do we have that's one once better up front than Baptista?
1. Thierry
2. RVP
3. Adebayor (this is a real toss up at best)
4. Then Baptista

Name another team (Chelsea included) that have a better 4th choice striker.

seriously

after seeing bendtner smack that header in from a corner, it reminded me if only we had bendtner on that header instead of baptista.
he is a total waste of space, he was 6 yards out running onto a header with robinson out of sight and he somehow allmost hits the corner flag.
thats not a "striker" as i pointed out in your post.
thats a total waste of space.
yes we have 3 quality strikers and thats it.
count aliadiere in the "total waste of space" bracket aswell.

Baptista has one of the worst first touch from a professional footballer I have ever seen and that's sad considering he's Brazilian.

Get Bendtner in as 4th choice striker and we'll be good to go next season with TH14, RvP and Ade.
