I enjoyed the macho-posturing ping-pong match, especially Sawyer's line, "If we don't play every 108 minutes, the world will end." Q

to kinda pick up where the other thread left off, one theory I've heard tossed around is that the island has funky space-time stuff going on (funky space-time stuff of course being the scientific term. in layman's terms, there be some wierd shit going on!) ... which would explain how Walt has aged so much when he inevitibably makes his comeback. And for desmond ... he's not seeing the future, he's seeing the past because he's already lived through it. he's forced to repeat his mistakes, to stop running away from them this time around. it fits in with the attonement themes that run through the show.

i was waiting for the big kate discussion to happen and then for them to smack each other with pingpong paddles in a good old fashioned cat fight.

You think Walt is coming back? I don't.

Best line from the episode was Sawyer to Jack and Juliette:

So are you two playing, "Who's your favorite Other?"

Let me just reiterate why Sawyer is the best character on this show and will always continue to be. He got laid twice! with two different chicks!

And he didn't let the fact that the first one got killed ruin his game. Ballin'.

Will they get off the island by the end of this thread? Only if Gilligan and the Skipper don't get to them first.

Q for discussion: did Desmond destroy his chance to see Penny again by saving Charlie's life and thus altering the future, or was it destiny that Penny wasn't going to be in the space suit under any circumstances?

I don't think it was ever going to be her; he just interpreted his vision to mean that.

So that song Desmond was singing while he was drinking is the song that Celtic (the club he supports) walks into at Celtic Park. One blogger was commenting how Celtic Park is referred to as "Paradise" and was making the connection between Desmond singing the song that blares over the loudspeakers at "Paradise" to the island.

There were some rumors that they wanted to bring Michael back at the end of this season, but the actor refused. It seems his pride was hurt over the way his character was treated or some shit. So who knows what will be happening there.
