(Not as eye catching as Matt’s last title.:) But at least you’re taking a look)

I called my cousin yesterday. He’s the one who gets the tickets when I go and visit Liverpool. He was telling me about the trip to Einhoven and the subsequent party at Anfield for the return. I asked him what the chances are for tickets in Athens should we beat Chel$ki. Which, contrary to most peoples thinking , is not a slam dunk.
He didn’t seem to think it would be a problem.

Then as we were chatting he mentioned his visit to Stevie’s place to pick up a pair of his boots ….So I said Whoah!…back up a minute, run that bit by me again with a bit more detail.

Michael is a delivery driver and drives a medium sized lorry all over Britain delivering , well, anything. As he was leaving one afternoon his boss tosses the keys to his (Brand new) Range Rover and says go to this address and pick up a pair of boots for tomorrows run. Then he tells him they’re at StevieG’s place and Steve has donated a….well, ‘The’ pair of boots he wore in Istanbul for the 05 CL Final…! Apparently Sky Sports had some sort of charity auction and they were Steve’s donation.

So Michael wanders up to his place and knocks on the door and the man himself answers it. Michael stammers who he was and what he was after…. No literally, Michael has a stammer at the best of times but it doesn’t get him down, he’s got 2 inches on me and I’m 6’ 2” and he’s a real big outgoing type.

Steve invites him in and pretty soon they’re chatting away like old friends and talking about Eindhoven and of course Istanbul. Then Steve says “Hang on” and goes and gets the boots. They’d actually had them mounted and put in a glass/ plexiglass case for display especially for the auction. So Michael takes them and gets ready to leave and Steve has another thought and goes in his office again and comes out with……….”Old F***ing BIG EARS! ….. and says “Put this on display with it for effect ……. but don’t forget to bring it back!!!”

………..So, Michael on this weird surreal high gets home with this “stuff” (Old boots and a tin cup) and takes them into his house. (As nice a Liverpool City is, one wouldn't want to leave them out in the street, even in ones car…..:D )

Then he calls my other cousin, the one he usually goes to the match with and after he convinces him he’s telling the truth he comes over, and they spend some time pawing at the cup and taking pictures.

I’m just surprised he didn’t take it down to the local to show it off. He parked them by the side of his bed that night and slept with one eye open.

….anyway………

THAT’S MY STORY….& I’M STICKING TO IT…!

Young Sean had to get into the act.
This may have been where he dropped it and the handle came off (Not really but it's what I'd expect from Sean though!)

Whats with the curtains! :DWell at least you know what they're called. I know Oz is a big desert and your closest neighbour is 20 miles away as the camel rides, all you need on windows are fly screens or long strings with wine bottle corks tied on.

But in a lot of civilized countries people have curtains on the windows unless they're exhibitionists.

My point being...so that's all you got out of this thread..???! :D

We'll somebody's not tellin' the truth! Those are 2006/07 boots. SG's Final boots were the 2004/2005 version.

And for that "Cup" are my fingerprints still on it? I think Trophy Art made about 50 of them!

I hope all of you know that after Istanbul the club held a number of events at the museum that allowed for picture taking like this -- not that I in any way doubt UsScouse's veracity:D

Heheh.. yours for the 'low low' price of £395.00 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300102925240) (That's about $793.05 right now, folks).

Ok, ok... so it's not quite the same model. ;)
