New Brunswick and Bound Brook, N.J. got it pretty bad yesterday...

today, the rising rivers, manhole covers popping out and a number of closed state roads are making for a commuting nightmare....

Sorry to hear that, have relatives in Bound Brook. Did anyone hear about the boulder slide on 80W before the Delaware Water Gap? Just hoping no injuries. We came upon it after the game last night.

No flooding here, just 10-12 inches of snow.

Had a couple of inches of water in my basement when I got home. Started a second pump to assist the sump & things are better currently.

I have a couple feet of water in my basement and several streets around me flooded. Not fun, spent a lot of yesterday swimming through the basement saving my stored stuff.

I came home after the game on sunday to find my condo surrounded by water. Most of my floor was/is ruined and I've now got 5 industrial fans and 1 de-humidifier going full tilt.

Wouldn't be too bad, but since I work from home, I have a nice buzzing in my ears.

I had to evacuate my neighborhood early Monday. Luckily nothing in my house got wet. The flood water came up to my foundation and touched the bottom of the vinyl siding, another 2-3 inches, I would have had wet floors.

Wow, we here in PA made out so much better getting the 20 inches of snow instead of all the rain you got.

Where I work is located in the Bunker Hill section of Paterson right next to the Passaic River. The water started rising there mid-morning on Monday. A few of us waded through waist deep water to go into the building Wednesday morning to check out the damage and move the computers to higher ground. This morning it was a much more managable ankle depth. We'll be working through the weekend to rescue and salvage whatever we can. Lessons learned from Floyd in September of 1999 came in handy this time as the material and hardware loss doesn't look to be a great as it was then.

Unless you live in Paterson, Bunker Hill is in "ya can't get there from here" territory.

Third day in a row it took me 90 minutes to make it home from work. Hopefully the water will dissipate over the weekend.

Clifton, but I work in Ramsey. The GSP, 17 and 80 have been choked with extra traffic. I tried to work my through the side streets but I wasn't alone in that endeavour.

I've heard that more people leave NJ than move here, but you wouldn't know that by the amount of cars on our roads.

New Brunswick got it pretty bad. The Raritan overflowed and flooded Rte. 18 (the main route into NB from the South), Easton Ave. (the main way in from the North off of I-287), and necessitated the closing of the 27 bridge (the main way in from the East). Rutgers canceled classes last Mon. and Tues. in order to let the road crews work without the usual traffic.

Other than some seepage into the basement, my house was fine, but it's on a hill so I wasn't too worried.
