Julian de Guzman and Canada were robbed of a late tying goal in last night's 2-1 loss in the Gold Cup semifinal.
Check out the 'low'lights here. How Bocanegra was not shown the 'ROT' on his horrific tackle on Julian is a puzzle.

Note Atiba Hutchinson set up the 1st goal and scored the 2nd 'disallowed' goal.

I'm sorry. Sucks to lose that way but happens to every team once in a while.
Papers are not mentioning Hutchinson anymore.
The first new signing is already training with the team, Thomas Kleine on the left:

I'm starting to get a little bit nervous, we NEED another good attacking midfielder. Huszti, Rosenthal and slow Bruggink are not going to cut it.

Yeah, it wasn't exactly the refs' finest hour. :o ( Of course, I thought your goal scorer should have seen at least a yellow, twice. ;) ) I hate when refs affect the outcome.
Hutchinson looked good - where does he play?

At this point, I'd settle for any good center mid. I'd love for him to be an attacking midfielder, but if we're not going to score goals, at least clog the middle of the field more.
Maybe we could get Benny Feilheber on loan? Not a great solution, but better then what we've got.

Is he already the new captain in Hanover? ;)

Actually, Simak could be a reason to go see a game at the Millerntor.
Otherwise I'm not excited for the new season... being in amsterdam and spending all my time in H-town with my gf surely doesn't help as she's not a believer (read as soccerfan) yet ;-)

How seriously can I take this? Is it just a Bild-Sommerloch-fluke, or is he really thinking that way? Will Hannover be the first club in Germany to be sold to an investor?

OMFG!
I think I'm gonna support OSV Hannover soon.
Or will just lock Kind up.

He was always thinking that way, he's a business man first, a football fan second.
For him 96 is not a club but a brand and he makes that clear again and again. That's why I'm not surprised by his comments at all.
He doesn't understand and care for fan-culture, he wants consumers, not fans. I'm pretty sure he wants the BL to be exactly like the EPL.
He's pretty much hated by a lot of 96 fans.

Hannover 96 glad to be back
Hannover 96 are back in training for the upcoming season, and the mood is good. Coach Dieter Hecking can't wait for the season to begin.
"We are so glad that it's time to get back to business" said Hecking during the squads first pre-season training session. It was also the perfect opportunity for Hecking to take a long, hard look at the newcomers.
Mike Hanke (transferred from VfL Wolfsburg) absolved an individual session, under the watchful eyes of conditional trainer Edward Kowalczuk.
New signings impress the boss
Three other new faces in the H96 squad also made their presence felt: Thomas Kleine, Sergio Pinto and Gaetan Krebs. "You can see that Gaetan has excellent technique" commented Hecking, adding, "now all he has to do is adjust to the pace and style of the Bundesliga."
Hannover's coach was also impressed with Kleine and Pinto, saying, "Thomas will increase the pressure on the established central defence pairing of Vinicius and Fahrenhorst . Sergio will have the chance to show what he can do best: playing aggressive football."
Bradaric back on the ball
The first session of the close season also marked the return of goal-getter Thomas Bradaric. The veteran striker endured an injury-ridden season, and swiftly got down to business, notching up a goal in the sessions practice match. "Thomas is like an extra new signing for us" commented Hecking.
Hashemian and Yankov absent
Two prominent squad members were however absent for the session. Iranian international Vahid Hashemian is in his home country, preparing for the Asia Cup, and Chavdar Yankov was missing too. He's been given extra leave because of international duty.

Sounds so much better in Italian and even the jersey look great on the Diadora HP.
L’Hannover 96. :D

Lovely summer weather, isn't it?
Some news about Huszti:
He was supposed to be back next week but is here already because he was basically thrown out of the Hungarian NT!
He felt he was treated unfairly by the coach before Hungary's EC qualifier and left the team. As a result the Hungarian federation banned him for all matches of the NT till the EC 2008.
Feel bad for him but this can only be good for 96.

It's like I was psychic or something (http://www.soccer365.com/US_NEWS/Americans_Abroad/page_93_144952.shtml):
Several clubs in Germany had already checked into a season loan for Feilhaber, including Hannover 96 and second Bundesliga sides Cologne and St. Pauli. FC Basel were thought to be Swiss club pondering a swoop, while clubs such as Lille, Monaco and Paris St. Germain are busily trying to plug holes in the middle.
Doesn't sound like anything will come of it, though, as it seems Hamburg is ready to sell him (500,000 Euros), and '96 wasn't mentioned in the list of suitors. It's too bad - he played pretty well in the Gold Cup, and I would have liked to have seen another yank on the team. :(

I was in Hameln today because 96 played Preussen 07.
This is the only pic I took though because then my batteries died of course.

The Porsche was BEAUTIFUL but I didn't know the guy driving it. Way too young to be driving a car like that though. Nooooooooooo, I'm not jelous. ;)
Our forwards are still a cause for concern. The team played with one striker (Thorvaldsson first half and Brdaric 2nd half) and neither scored a goal.
Other than that not much to analyze, it was not really a contest. Krebs is really really small.
1:0 Bruggink
2:0 Rosenthal
3:0 Bruggink
4:0 Bruggink
5:0 Vinicius
6:0 Schröter
7:0 Stajner
8:0 Cherundolo
9:0 Stajner
10:0 Pinto
11:0 Pinto
12:0 Zuraw
13:0 Stajner
Hannover 96 (1.half): Enke - Cherundolo, Vinicius, Fahrenhorst, Tarnat - Balitsch, Lala - Huszti, Bruggink, Rosenthal - Brdaric
Hannover 96 (2. half): Golz - Schröter, Kleine, Zuraw, Halfar - Cherundolo, Lala - Stajner, Krebs, Pinto - Thorvaldsson
Interesting to see that only Lala played the full 90 minutes (and stevie). Hecking said in an interview that he actually thinks about playing USA in the DM and Pinto as RB.
It's good to have a deep team but of course this also leads to discontented players. Stajner wants to leave the club because he doesn't think he'll get to play much this season. :(
Bruggink's beautiful 4:0:

Btw, Brdaric's Knee is still not healed. WTF?
They say it's going to take "a while" till he can fully use it, up to 6 weeks but it might also take longer.
Kinda sounds chronic doesn't it?
Haha, I totally forgot abuot Yankov. Damn, we have so many players that I want to see starting. And there's Hashemian.
Hanke could be fit in three weeks:

Damn, I wanna see him back in MG :( ;) ... although I've serious doubts if he'll be the same Miklu after so many injuries.

Someone is reading this thread!!!!!! *happy dance* ;)
I really want him but to be honest we have enough forwards nursing injuries already, we can't afford him.
I KNEW it:
Hannover 96 sign Lauth (http://www.presseportal.de/pm/52371/1011133/hannover_96_gmbh_co_kgaa)
I guess it's because of Brdaric's knee.

Hey, I am reading as well.
Dunno if Lauth is good or bad, but it seems to me tzhat our cadre now has more depth. No bad signings, besides Hanke of course ( I was in WOB last weekend, a lot of stupid jokes on the Hannoverians' costs.)
We'll see, hope to get ticvkets for the Real game, Glasgow game is scheduled to late unfortunately.

I just got tickets for the Rangers match, won't play Kind's game and buy ridiculously espensive tickets for a test-game against Real's B or C team.

Yeah it really sucks that I have to work on the next morning (in amsterdam). And it is propably smarter to see the real game on TV or in a pub.
