I'd rather pay a 35 year old Rivaldo his 2 million a year than spend 4 million on Hanke. Jesus.
I'm not sure i would.
But i still want Rivaldo to go to Hannover, just 'cause it's Rivaldo :D
€4.7M WTF
The fact that Wolfsburg gets that much money from us makes me barf.

Bradirc and Hanke playing together for my team! I would have never thought this would happen. *shudder*

@ Eilts: all solid players, but no world class. certainly not Hilderband.
And Hanke will have a hard time proving he is worth that much money.
It's always great to see your new $4.7M signing arriving on crutches. :D

Hanke looks like he will be a Valdez
@ Eilts: all solid players, but no world class. certainly not Hilderband.
But when you're in the CL, you need world class players too (to be comppetitive in all competitions)...

Jan rosenthal is a real talent
Whom are you talking about?
Hochstätter I guess?!
Jan rosenthal is a real talent
Yes he is even though he needs to play a little more intelligent. He loses the ball too easy. 96 certainly doesn't have the best youth development system but from time to time great talents emerge like Rosenthal, Mertesacker, Ernst, Asamoah or Rausch/Evseev in the future.
Still I'd love to see them open up an academy.
It's sad that Asamoah, Ernst or Merte left so early but they still were important. We would have never gotten promoted without Asa and Ernst.
I'll never forget how 18-year old Fabian Ernst took the first penalty against TB Berlin and converted it of course.
Back then we all thought that he was going to be a superstar though.
Right now all things point to Willi Evseev being an exceptional talent and yet we'll probably never see him play for the first team at all because he'll leave to a bigger club before, probably after next season. :(
Apparently we're interested in Benny Lauth (anyone surprised?) and LB Cristian Pulhac (Dinamo Bucarest).
Also interested in Pulhac are Espanyol Barcelona and Inter so I guess he'll join us for sure. :D

Whom are you talking about?
Hanke.
Ok :)
According to an article in the local paper 96 wants to buy Leon Andreasen.
Should they get him they won't buy Lauth.
They are also interested in:
* Atiba Hutchinson (FC Kopenhagen)
* Antonio Mavuba (Bordeaux).
Andreasen is still a possibility even though half the league wants to have him.
Newest rumour is that HSV could loan Trochowski for a year .

Sousa leaves Hannover 96
Hannover 96 and Ricardo Sousa have parted ways.
The midfielder had joined Hanover from Boavista in 2004.
Sousa played five matches for 96 before being he left on loan to Dutch side De Graafschap in January 2005.
13 matches in 2005-06
He returned to play 13 matches for Hanover in the 2005-06 season, but left again on loan - back to Boavista - last season.
His contract with 96 has now been resolved by mutual consent.

Hanke and Rosenthal are already busy getting back to form:

I'm at the Maschsee so often yet I have never ever seen 96 players there even though they are running there every week. Arrgghhh.

Ex-96er Julian de Guzman is leading all players in voting at FIFA.com as the best player in the Gold Cup (CONCACAF championship). I encourage all fans of Julian to vote!!! See FIFA.com main page, right hand side. A Cdn player has won that award once before but no Cdn has won for his scoring/playmaking qualities.
Will do. We still love the little Canadian here. :)
For those to lazy to type.

Apparently many many clubs are asking about Rosenthal (Stuttgart, everton) but he's under contract till 2010 so I think he'll leave no earlier than 2009.

Hutchinson is a gem, bit expensive though. He along with Julian de Guzman have been outstanding for Canada in the Gold Cup, completely controlling the midfield. If you have the time, Check out the goal highlights (all in the 1st half) here from our friends at youtube.
The graphic of the lineup is misleading. Canada played with this formation:
Gerba (would look good in germany!)
De Rosario Bernier (FCK next season)
de Guzman Hutchinson (!!!!)
Nash
Jazic Hastings Hainault (interest from germany) Stalteri (ex WB)
Onstad
BTW, Julian is running away with that FIFA poll.

Even if Everton tabled a 5-6 million euro bid?
Even if Everton tabled a 5-6 million euro bid?
Of course not but that would never happen.
Sure he's got talent but he's not THAT good to warrant such a sum but who knows what happens this season.
He could have easily have ten goals the last season but sometimes the second pro-season is more difficult than the first.
